My dad was a bit of a DIY superstar. There wasn't any job which gave him pause.
He used to buy me DIY handbooks and tools for Christmas presents when all I really wanted was a games console.
TBF the tools and the books have aged much better, but there's still no making up for my lack of skill!

Hacking those turbo-loaders was almost as much fun as playing some of the games! A memory dump to microdrive and suddenly any game was playable within a few seconds. A shame the microdrive format never caught on for commercial games.
