No, you didn't. Apologies. I wasn't meaning to disagree or put words in your mouth at all. The OP seemed to suggest that a proper wage was a stretch goal, rather than a baseline for the project. I should have been much clearer.

Agreed, to the extent that the crowdfunding campaign guarantees the creatives a minimum standard of pay before stretch goals. Otherwise, it's forcing creatives to spend extra time as marketers in the hopes of getting paid appropriately. A pay boost is great, but a proper *initial* rate is better.

I dunno. At a certain level, I'm okay with paying for a luxury like Netflix if the service continues to improve. What irks me is when content disappears or shows I like get canceled and then they tell us they want to hike up the price. As if they didn't just save a bunch of money with a write-off.

I'm not going to lie and pretend for a second that I wouldn't have much preferred a term from Warren instead of Biden. Even a one-term presidency would have left us in a vastly different framework than the one Trump is about to exploit.

Of course, this presumes an appropriate interpretation of constitutional law, which I have no confidence anyone involved expects to exhibit or have enforced on them.

I think it depends on where a trap is set and its intent. Is it deterrence, or “this threat is close enough to a vulnerable spot that I need to kill/weaken it?” For deterrence, you don’t even necessarily need a real trap. You just need enough evidence of a trap’s victims to chase threats off.

Damn. I know we've only gotten to chat a few times, but your impact on the space was deeply felt, and it's a shame that corporate short-sightedness has impacted you directly. I'm terribly sorry that you're out of work, and sorry for the impact on the community. I hope you find something quickly.

So happy you found a provider for Ned that you and he seem comfortable with.

Three things: -They announced major changes to the Block feature, all bad. -They changed the Terms to grant absurd rights to Twitter/X, including automatic licenses and to allow machine learning. -Someone made an extension to scrape follows from Twitter and expedite following over here.
