This, I assume, was produced by the same technology that some people want to use to educate our kids. The more you look, the worse it gets.

"The newest and most powerful [AI] technologies ... are generating more errors, not fewer. As their math skills have notably improved, their handle on facts has gotten shakier. It is not entirely clear why." www.nytimes.com/2025/05/05/t...

One major problem I have with AI is it will give you an answer even if it knows nothing about the topic (not unlike some people). "All of this work suggests that under the hood, today’s AIs are overly complicated, patched-together Rube Goldberg machines full of ad-hoc solutions for answering our prompts."

I didn't know I needed this.

Among my regular passengers on the 44 are two young boys who ride with their grandma from California and 6th Ave all the way to Silver and Palou. The older brother is possibly a 2nd grader. Last night as they were getting off my bus, he handed me this hand made envelope.

For anyone looking to learn more about facial recognition, I highly recommend @kashhill.bsky.social’s 2023 book Your Face Belongs to Us. It’s an extraordinarily relevant read around surveillance capitalism and removing privacy rights under the guise of security.

Gélineau advanced the term "narcolepsy" in 1880 while de la Tourette described his eponymous syndrome in 1885. "Autism" was coined by Bleuler in 1911, with full diagnoses soon after. But what do I know? I'm not the Cabinet secretary in charge of the goddamn Department of Health and Human Services.
