π I'm sure this is the thing they've been waiting for over in the UK.

There was definitely overlap, although I queried for different genres. I did a bit of simultaneous querying (or chaos querying, as I called it), so I had 2 different manuscripts going out at once. I never had 2 queries at an agency at the same time though. Waited to close 1 before sending the next!

I love QT premium. I had multiple projects I queried, so keeping those separate was important. I used the tagging system pretty extensively to organize myself. And the new restore answers feature seems AMAZING!

Thanks! I think most of my indie friends are below that, but might see who I can send your way!

Someone can always find something new to comment on. It's always possible to get new feedback. You can plan ahead for WHEN you want that (like "I'm going to send 30 queries, then pause and get new feedback"), which helps with not feeling like you constantly need to change something!

Do you have a guideline of what sales numbers should look like for indie authors who are interested in going the subrights route?

Every time this one comes up on my feed, it makes me smile. It sounds like such a fun story. I'm rooting for you on your query journey!

Without! Interior layout is something you'd discuss with the publisher's design team much further down the line. For query, just send the words and let them focus on the story itself!

For me, I definitely wanted someone who believed in my vision for the book and wanted to support me in getting that out into the world. (Same for editors, not just agents!) But if two agents had similar visions, I would also look at comm styles, deals history, and personality/vibes.

Best to just let mistakes be and move on! Agents don't care about small mistakes! But you should only requery an agent if you've made significant revisions to the manuscript and their submission rules don't say not to. But if you mean 10 times with different projects, you're totally fine!

For the book that eventually got me rep, I went through over 20 revisions of my query blurb. Only about 3 versions went out to agents though. When you make changes, send it when you're confident in the new one, but then let it live a bit. Give it a chance to work before changing again!
