Today we recognize Nora Bernard, a Mi’kmaq activist and residential school survivor. A member of Millbrook 1st Nation, Nora led a 15-yr legal battle that helped secure compensation for 1000s of Indigenous children forced to attend residential schools. Nora Bernard St replaced Cornwallis is 2022.
