i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.

Regarding US "soft power": narcissists love having leverage over others by giving gifts or fulfilling their needs (at their whim, ofc). Then they take that away - for their own interests, or to punish the other party/ies - yet they're STUNNED when they discover they no longer have any leverage.

2 of the 3 staffers I spoke to today said they're getting thousands of calls about the takeover of the United States Treasury. Call - House rep & both Senators. Be as forceful & serious as the situation demands, but be courteous to the staffers. They sound worried & exhausted, and like...same, fam.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.
