You know, Canadians don't HAVE to be nice to us. It's not their job to pat those of us who voted for Harris/Walz on the head and say "you're OK." I don't get the purpose of "we're the GOOD Americans" energy. Same folks don't care about perception when we're wreaking havoc across the Global South.

Wow this sucks www.theguardian.com/books/2025/m...

New piece. This isn't over by a long shot for Creative Australia and Khaled Sabsabi.

“Massive population drop”: Grimes’ been given the details and let ‘em slip…

Succumbing to bullying from right-wing corporations like News Corp creates a guaranteed win for News Corp: First, the scalp, and then the subsequent decay / collapse of the institution due to the entirely justified backlash and scandal. The only response is: **never submit to the bullies**

The blame game is silly as I don’t think it matters much that Harris lost this particular election.. even if she’d won, Dems would not have done a thing to secure the nation from the rising tide of right wing insurrection and so these extremists likely would have won/stolen the next election anyway.

This chart 📊 jumped out, showing the explosion of incarceration in the Northern Territory where 1% of the population is now in jail, worse than the United States. It should be a global disgrace for Australia #auspol

When the Nazi does Nazi shit it’s the people who prevaricate about what to call it you should be most concerned about

Sorry to bring up Corbyn but it's wild the mainstream media tied themselves in knots pretending he's an antisemite but are now tying themselves in knots pretending Musk didn't do a Nazi salute.

Galen Buckwalter, 68, shared with me his harrowing tale of being forced to flee the Eaton fire alone on his wheelchair through dark streets and fierce winds, dodging debris as fire neared his home. “In emergencies, disabled people are the last to get services…We have no system. You’re on your own”

Performance-fatalist accounts know very well that deadly, destructive catastrophes are the best moment to ply their trade: announcing they fossil fuels are inevitable, and that the only path forward is a perpetual state of helplessness and terror Don't buy into the narrative, no matter how tempting

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.

This will happen in Australian cities soon. Meanwhile Australia is the 2nd biggest exporter of CO2 emissions globally, AND THE ALBANESE GOVERNMENT KEEPS APPROVING NEW GAS AND COAL PROJECTS. Might as well be standing in the bush lighting matches.

“The idea that a user’s photos can be screened against a cloud dataset for any purpose is uncomfortable to many—at least those who see their iPhones as their personal-eyes-only vault.”

Yes it's a plagiarism machine meant to put us all out of work and enrich the worst people alive and yes one request expends more energy than it takes to power Buffalo for a week, but more than that anything to do with AI is just corny dork-made shit. It fucking sucks and so do you if you use it.

These graphics always blow my mind. The idea that humanity basically cannot exist without fossil fuels gets shown up as being a total scam when you realise that they only grew to dominate energy systems a few decades ago

The state of Victoria is ablaze with fires raging through the Grampians/gariwerd, wombat state forest near Macedon, my home of Creswick and the Gurdies in the south east. Perfect week for the Environment Minister to approve new monster coal mines and turbo charge climate change.

Faaaaaaaark. This is god awful stuff. Why can you not protest while wearing a face mask? WHY? WHY MUST YOU BE IDENTIFIABLE?

This is good! It would be great to see more of it! "Theatregoers attending David Tennant's penultimate Macbeth performance on the West End on Friday will be offered face masks and Covid tests as part of a health safety awareness campaign." 1/3 www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/davi...

Our chronic illness community has lost another member - Prof Gemma Carey has passed away. Gemma was a fierce advocate for long covid and chronic illness - and an incredibly talented writer. She was a valuable member of our community and I’m sending tons of love to her family and all who knew her.

Patients argue unfiltered air promotes ‘discriminatory’ public spaces. "Disability advocates argue schools and workplaces that fail to provide safe and clean air push discrimination, with patient groups calling for government intervention." Source: archive.md/ORV7R
