Glad you're enjoying them!

Thanks! It is funny, right? I wonder if mtg ever had this kind of thing happen before?

Oh my goodness, hahaha, that would be crazy!

Thanks! The background especially is my jam. The fighter spaceships are probably aa close as I'll ever get to doing one of those ww2 dogfight illustrations. 😅

Thanks so much, it's been a blast!

Lovely piece! Considering that we're often looking for small variations to break up the sameness of a pattern, it's not necessarily a bad thing that it's difficult to replicate exactly, I guess? I like seeing that in an illustration, anyway.

The more I think about it, the more I think this: the ones we love best might be ones where we see the most *potential* rather that *statements* already visible in the thumbnail. Mileage may vary, but my work tends to evolve as I go along, so *potential* figures highly in my excitement.

Pre-cisely! Still not quite sure why that is. The ones we hate may be the easiest to parse? I dunno.

Exactly. Time is money, and no one needs to put a ton of work into a piece only to have the client decide it won't work for their needs. I also only present the client with sketch options I'd be excited to execute.

I had high hopes for it, too. So it goes, though. With the amount of cards they're coming up with per year, it's bound to happen!

Thanks so much! I can't take credit for the initial design, since I was working off of MTG concept art, but glad you like my take on this golem cryptid thing as much as I do!

Thanks, Jon, thought that was a fun one!

Or Total Recall, take your pick! 😂

Thanks so much, Kira! Glad you enjoyed the game and will get to enjoy the metal print every day as well. ❤️

No worries, I always post the post then wait a beat before adding the link just in case that make any difference with algorithms or other deprecation. Less necessary on Bluesky, but habit nonetheless! :-)

Yeah, just added that link, but here it is as well: www.youtube.com/watch?v=67y2...

Thanks so much! One of my favorites that I've done for them so far.

It was relatively busy last year, so no big surprise there. It's definitely bigger than it was when you were last there. Here's hoping we have a great weekend!

Thanks! Hopefully we get to see more wide-ranging fantasy visions in future.

Totally fair, yeah; well that's a good rec! Thanks!

Thanks, I got to do five really fun ones for them!

How's that series treating you? Not a subgenre I've tried out, yet.

Congrats!

Isn't it good? Now I gotta track down my next page-turner. :-)

The one thing it's missing, though, is a good map! Although not strictly necessary (the theme park breaks down into roughly six main areas), I think it would add a lot and be nice to flip back to from time to time.

Aw, thanks!

Thanks! Definitely up there as a favorite piece for gamers, whether they interpret it as the power of dice upon fate, or dice jail, or (as was commissioned intent) a portal to climb up into.

Note that you have to click on the image to see the whole thing, since it's so very vertical.

I remember showing this to friends on FB before I'd made prints of it and asking them if it was too on-the-nose to bring to shows like Gen Con. Turns out it's not!
