Woke up in my War on Drugs tee shirt after a Harmonia's dream and needed an aspirin.

the transfer to El Salvador of US deportees is, per Pres Bukele, a straight up contract that has “nothing to do w/foreign policy.” The fees we are paying makes their entire prison system “sustainable.” Don’t see how US can make argument that bringing A-G back is some sensitive foreign policy matter

Is there any link between the Trump admin’s “deal” with El Salvador and Bukele’s plan for a “Bitcoin City,” which was going to be scaled back in order to receive loans from the IMF — and Trump admin’s plans to use gold reserves to buy Bitcoin? Or all just coincidence theweek.com/business/eco...

Trump is also saying that the once the US has rounded up individuals, with minimal or zero due process, on whatever pretext they choose, they can send them out of the US to face torture, death, life imprisonment, slave labor or other fates that are unconstitutional or illegal in the US.

This is a concession by the U.S. government that its “arrangement” with El Salvador is irrevocable. To me this has to be grounds to argue that the arrangement itself is unconstitutional under the Fifth and Eighth Amendments

Forgive the rant, but what the hell is this Administration doing?  Not gonna be easy to undo the damage, folks. But I’ve got some ideas on where to start.

I just want to tip my hat to the crack team of White House economists who were able to discover--in just a few short days--that the U.S. is dependent on China for smartphones, computers and semiconductors.

If you feel like being inspired by a big law firm, here's the opening to Sussman Godfrey's lawsuit against Trump and his executive order targeting the firm. It still is amazing other firms caved quickly to Trump's mob-like and unconstitutional shakedown. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I pray you’ll read my latest. We are being challenged as a nation and this is a test we must pass. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...

Stop it. Just stop it. Trump didn’t blink. He’s manipulating the markets and his friends are making a killing.

Whenever you write something like this it should be antisemitism in quotes at bare minimum or in some form making clear that they’re aren’t actually cracking down on antisemitism

i think about this photo a lot

A helpful guide to the current state of US trade policy:

Someone should check which Trump allies and members of Congress bought Apple/tech stock on Friday. www.cnbc.com/2025/04/12/t...

Why aren't more law firms concerned that they'll lose future clients, along with talented applicants, by folding in the face of govt threats? If they won't stand up for themselves, how can anyone think they'd stand up for clients? Even if they lack ethics or integrity, that seems bad for business.

Listen to: The Tariff Week From Hell. Plus, the Bluesky CEO Reimagines Social Media. - one.npr.org/i/1269097698... Great podcast ... and I really enjoyed the interview with Douglas Rushkoff ... those tech Bn$ are really NUTS!

You gotta be kidding me. No one should be forced to create an account on X to boost Elon Musk’s numbers just so they can get info about the Social Security benefits they paid for. www.wired.com/story/social...

"For now, that means the tariffs are not being collected by the U.S. government..." 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ a "glitch" you say? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ www.cnbc.com/2025/04/11/c...

Wait til Trump figures out that the Kochs, using Leo, actually picked “Trump’s Supreme Court justices” and that Trump was the chump in the equation.

Today, I signed bill SB25-003 into law, and I want to address some common myths so everyone understands what this means for our community.

Excellent 🧵

Paying an extortionist -- where do you think it ends? Do you think he honors his side of the supposed "deal"? Really? Meanwhile, as Big Law ill-advisedly pays the protection racket, there's a huge need for lawyers to help regular people Trump is illegally targeting: www.cm-life.com/article/2025...

If I were Judge Xinis, I would order the government to produce, in her courtroom, officials who were in a position to answer her questions and to do so under oath. Letting DOJ continue to prevaricate and deflect responsibility in written submissions seems ... insufficient at this point.

SCOOP: The Social Security Administration (SSA) will be shifting its public communication exclusively to X, sources tell WIRED. This comes as agency plans to cut its regional office workforce by roughly 90 percent.

Imagine living your life and thinking working people don't deserve a living wage so they can provide for themselves and their families. So they can rest. So they can have an opportunity to participate in our economy and democracy. Imagine thinking that? Couldn't be us.

Not a single word to help the 33m small businesses in this country. Not from anyone in the administration. So many buy from China, and don't have alternatives. So many didn't have the cash to front run the tariffs and buy inventory

A new study has examined 8 million speeches from 140 years of Congress, showing a massive decline in evidence-based language since the 1970s. www.iflscience.com/use-of-facts...

Wow. Great article . "Perhaps the most damning commentary about the US electorate and media is that Trump never even tried to conceal his malicious intentions and deranged policy positions." www.publicnotice.co/p/trump-tari...

Can this finally put an end to the idea that Republicans are fiscally responsible?

Last night, I wrote on Substack how I thought Trump would respond to the Abrego Garcia ruling from SCOTUS (left). Here’s how Trump actually responded this morning (right). Also, the deadline for Trump to report the steps it’s taken has passed.

NEW on @npr.org: A DOGE staffer working in the Social Security Administration has been pushing questionable claims about noncitizens voting — apparently using data that court records suggest DOGE shouldn't have. More on the claims and the latest in DOGE access concerns:

No lawmaker in Congress should be able to own, buy, and sell individual stocks. We need to ban congressional stock trading—and I've got a bill for that.

It is past his jail time!!!

If it weren't for the tariffs, this would be one of the biggest stories right now.

Today House Republicans, cheered on by the richest person on Earth, passed a budget framework that will cut support for the poorest people in our country. All while cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy, and massively increasing the deficit.

Hannah Arendt summed up Trump-style authoritarians and their lemmings perfectly with this quote: “The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that…one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day… 1/

This Court refuses to acknowledge the bad faith of this Administration. Had the entire Court signed on to the very straightforward factual “Statement” of Sotomayor, Kagan & Jackson, it would be different. Given the outrageous nature of the facts & this Admin’s recalcitrance, this is not strong.

This is how Kaganovich talked about Stalin.

NEW: Colorado Gov Jared Polis (D) has signed a bill requiring a firearms safety course and approval from county sheriffs for buyers of certain semi-automatic guns. Polis did not take questions from 9NEWS and other journalists after signing the bill. #copolitics

I am but a humble cable news host with a bachelor’s in philosophy, but I feel like at some point the bond market is also going to notice that the GOP is going to pass a deficit financed 5 trillion dollar tax cut. Maybe?

Build workshops to help others get their passports (advice, consultation, transportation) & collectives to cover costs. Even better, those in the gov, millionaire or billionaire class should help subsidize this effort. It’s going to hurt at least 21 million, don’t let it be 21 million of ours. #3E
