Have you done the lottery tonight - if so can you share your numbers.

While it would have been a stupid waste of money, I will always have a slight regret at wimping out in the auction to buy Boba Fett's (Jeremy Bulloch's) guitar.

It is suspicious, but there is also the (non zero) chance it was purely for the money... www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022...

Maybe they should adopt the same metric as software engineering where lines (of code) written has proved to be such a fantastic metric to measure performance and leads to no bad outcomes #sarcasm

Aren't they forcibly adding starlink connectivity now though? - so not ideal. Then again it's between the devil and deep blue sea with Google lifting their ban on using their AI for weapons. Nokia 3310 anyone?

I am assuming violence is frowned upon, but is a "tut" too strong?

This breaks my heart. Am in a meeting right now where people are discussing the possibility of maybe thinking about the potential for considering how they might go about creating an ontology and then how we reinvent the wheel to implement it. I can think of only 1 person who could save the day...

@nickevershed.bsky.social Still doesn't render properly on mobile, but was "fun" to mess around creating. (My second attempt with chatgpt was running ok on my laptop within 20 mins. Chatgpt/me seems to be struggling with resizing for mobile) butlersj.github.io/ChartSkier/

If it meant it would print exactly what I intended every single time, allowed me to print in black and white even if the colour cartridges were empty and it could happily do double sided without eating paper, I might be tempted. But you said HP so that's never gonna happen

15 years ago I might have tried to argue with you, but much more on your side now. Hardest one I had to argue with was a dev who refused to do standups because "post-it notes are gay". Would love to see the 25yr old SM deal with that...

If you have not solved it already, OpenAI's next world guessing tool suggests it can be done using a worker script... YMMV

I don't understand why they are allowed to lie and not be held to account in any meaningful way. It's been going on for years, things that are demonstrably false are just waved through. Don't let them carry on when they lie. Stop. Tell them they are lying. Don't move on. Demand the truth.

To be fair, the UK shut down 3G and didn't realise how much traffic it carried - our city centre is a mobile data dead zone now - no one can access the internet regardless of phone or carrier.

Exactly No matter what side you look at it from, it is flat. If only there was a way of describing a shape that behaved like that... We will probably never know... 🤫

Thank you for this post (and I love that someone is still drawing Popeye). We were talking about ritalin last night (don't ask) and I had the vaguest memory of a song. This post helped me remember it was the Simpsons parody of Popeye's theme song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=abqS...

Have you looked at e-ink notepads like the Remarkable 2? Not cheap, but has been amazing for me in keeping thoughts, notes, lists etc all in one place and I get joy from using mine every day.

If you include the online donations, registration fees, raffle and food sales the event raised the best part of £8,000 - amazing effort for a great cause.

Would that potentially fix spreadsheet sorting (accepting the only real way to write dates for that is yyyymmdd)? Or would we still get: Month 1 Month 10 Month 11 Month 12 Month 2 ...
