My favorite reads are character driven plots with elements of fantasy and mystery. I write the same.

I DNF. I just don't have the time to waste. I was reading one YA book (accidently bc I usually don't read it) and the MFC was went on a liner across the Atlantic on her own in the 1890s. Laughable.

At this point we are being loaded onto a train and needing to make a Sophie's Choice on our survival. Those who enabled the face eating leopards will go down first on the body count.

I'm sure you are too - so tired of beating your head against a brick wall. Need to focus on my own life since millions of people were fine with that.

Yeah, I mean I need to keep reminding myself that humanity is in freefall. We are in the Fall of Rome. But hey! They'll make a buck, so it's all good.

These marketers who market their seminars, workshops, and consults to indie authors make bank because a lot of indie authors are noobies who will pay out $$ to be told 1.) it's easy! 2.) follow MY steps and you'll have a bestseller. It's the modern-day medicine show, pea under the walnut con

After receiving a bunch of WTF? comments they posted at "whataboutism" post - "we are neutral" ROFLMAO. Why don't you let us post news articles about AI lawsuits? Extremely disappointing.

What I personally would have preferred is that they let you customize your author page a bit more - such as arranging your books into collections or letting you put your latest at the front of the book row.

I always state my cover designer on my copyright page, and since last year have been putting in an NO AI statement in both my ebooks and print books.

It's fine for the author who doesn't want to code and wants something simple. But I'll stick to my own website platform where I can do way more.

One of my favorite playlists I created for my contemporary, magical realism (award winning!) book, A Spell of Rowans. It is an angsty, cryfest, scream for help. Good for digging out those emotions you try to hide. tidal.com/browse/playl...

My switch to Tidal has been pretty easy. Maybe its my imagination (probably) but the sound quality seems better to me (same speakers). Well, I'll double-check everything transferred over from Spotify before I delete that service but I'm feeling good about the switchover.

I'm not going to mention the book name but I noticed that inside they listed a bunch of high profile authors who gave glowing lines about it. How this works is these authors are all represented by the same people or publishing house. They are asked to give these quotes for publicity.

Just got our 2,020 (okay don't like that number) downloaded from Amazon. That tool (above) needs a little programming knowledge but since I'm married to a Guru he got that done and we have our books. So I have my ebooks up to now on my computer.

These books would never have been published back in the 80s and 90s bc the characters lack depth, the world doesn't make sense (and this was a contemporary novel - how can you screw that up?), and so fluffy it would make a dandelion cry.

Yeah. The system is collapsing because humanity is incapable of caring about anyone. I don't worry about myself, but for my kids I do.

Color samples on the wall. I am SO ready to have my private space again (not so private this time around as work-at-home husband will be sharing it). Ordered a couple of new shelf units also and yesterday bought husband a new (antique library) desk

It is a bit worrisome because husband is doing the alpha reading and he isn't smiling or laughing HAHA because the book is pretty intense in the beginning. Hopefully, Viola's dire peril will keep readers flipping the pages and they will ignore the lack of the funny banter.

Thank you! It seems to be a hit with my readers though the print book will have a different look.
