Got to talk with a couple of these folks during a virology course at my university years ago. Easily the most badass scientists I’ve ever met with amazing stories and career achievements. Heartbroken is an understatement

So cool! Never been that far south on the Brazos, but I hadn’t considered how much the composition of fossils could change along the river

The Trump Administration is clarifying that WIC & SNAP may be unaffected. Let's hope this is so.
Remember that GOOD policy and politicians provide clear guidance, and try to reduce confusion and chaos. But that's not what any of us have right now.

From my time as a grocery cashier, I remember these families most. They’d come in just before closing so the store wouldn’t be busy; each item had to be checked to see if it’d be covered. We’re punishing people who have to weigh out the exact number of bananas they can get their kids each week

That’s it! They do have a seam wrapping around them. Thank you so much!! I’m excited to use this information to talk to my nieces and nephews about what we found. I think they’re way cooler than the dino tracks we usually go to see 💛

Ooo I’d recommend Hyperion by Dan Simmons or Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers for some classic sci fi.
… or the lightbringer series by Brent weeks for a more modern Fantasy. Happy reading!

This is great work!! I’m curious if you’ve looked into the mitochondrial iron-sulfur cluster regulation any more. Would love to see how iron metabolism and distribution is impacted on a larger scale

Walking along the Brazos river in Texas recently, we found several “deer heart clam” fossils (a Cretaceous pelecypod from what I’ve found online) and I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around how they form; are these fossils common in other parts of the world?

Feeling for Rivian right now. After touring their factory last year and getting excited about their “Made in America” vision, I can’t see them surviving these next four years
