me in 2006: wow gee, this is a whole system of incentives that structure the world as I know it. I should probably write about that. knowledge is power! me in 2025: knowing how anything works is like being awake during surgery

I would love to consolidate my debt into a lower interest option but also I simply do not have an income like 8 months a year for the next one-teo years and thus would not qualify for like anything ????

Intentionally or not, it implies that it doesn't make sense to be cis and support trans people without this 'background info,' like, "see, this is why he cares. He has a personal stake." Icky and unnecessary tbh.

When I saw him last (Family Day weekend) he couldnā€™t remember my name. Which is so, so hard for me because the last time I saw my father alive in 2009, he also couldnā€™t remember my name.

I am dreading the day I see my motherā€™s heart break for the second time in my life. She shouldnā€™t have to be twice widowed.

He has elected, in his age and abilities, to decline treatments that made him feel shittier, even if they may eventually prolong his life. The pandemic has not taken his life, but in a way, it has taken the life that he and my mother might have had, otherwise.

He has overall lost the interest in ā€œanother pill, another doctor telling me thereā€™s something wrong with me, yknow, Bri(redacted)?ā€

His health has been downhill since then. When I met him in 2013 he was a jovial, charismatic man who loved to take my mother out dancing at the legion. He would spend hours working on the yard and the lawn and tinkering because he simply needed to be busy.
