Happening around Christmastime, no less. They may just as well ticket Mary for making unpermitted use of a manger.

(Thankfully 7-11 is pretty dead on Christmas Eve, so we never had too big of an audience)

It was so fun! My kids love it as much as we did, and I enjoy making them now. My dad would go to 7-11 and pre-pay for slurpees for us and give the employee our next clue. They were told not to give it to us until we had sung our assigned carol or goofy song. Mortifying, but we were all good sports.

On Christmas Eve, my parents set up an in-house treasure hunt (word scramble clues, riddles, phone calls from family giving us a puzzle) that always led us to special Christmas pajamas. As teens we had to drive around town finding (or singing for!) clues. I do the in-house version for my kids now πŸ’

Here's the transcript: www.npr.org/2024/11/05/n... It stuck with me how he could do so many hypocritical, illegal, and unethical things, but it doesn't matter because he never said he wouldn't 🀷🏻

This reminds me of an exchange on NPR on election day where Mary Louise Kelly kept pressing about how Kamala had been against dark money, but was accepting money from PACs now. Meanwhile, Trump was selling watches and trading cards for untraceable crypto, and being loudly funded by Elon πŸ™ƒ

Then again, I will never be able to appreciate a kong filled with peanut butter and pumpkin the way that she does, so really I shouldn't judge

The only thing I've seen him in besides Schitt's Creek is Rutherford Falls, but that was a very similar look to Ted so I had no idea his face looked like that under the beard πŸ˜‚

Omg, I've seen the promo images and totally didn't recognize him without the facial hair! That's wild

Her ears are magnificent!

*literally just letting her pet him for sensory regulation is one of her tasks. It's now gotten him through a dental cleaning, an ultrasound, and countless other waiting rooms and social visits that he would rather not be part of

Success!! Aside from one front desk person who said all the wrong things, everyone else was very welcoming. The hygienist even passed one of the tubes under the dog when she was standing by the chair to provide tactile stimulation* so that it could reach without disturbing the service team

That's awesome that the school is on board with that! At one of our (many 🫠) meetings with 12's school they kept saying their goal is getting her ready for high school and to join the workforce and I kept having to reiterate that she WILL need more time. She's on her own growth curve and it's fine!

It's been wild seeing the difference between my own kids' (3 years apart) experiences. A huge factor was COVID, but it's been tough seeing that even in a really good district in a blueish state that is trying to improve, external factors seem to be impeding all the progress that had been made.

I'm homeschooling 9 this year because they didn't have the staff to help him get into the building, and then the local budget crisis meant they had to shut down the district's virtual school option for his age 🫠 There are a lot of factors at play, but the end result is no public education for him.

This was even before the pilling... (in his defense, this isn't an angry face, it's him panting because he is 14.1 lbs of anxiety)
