When one party says "it's not scientific to study mental health outcomes for LGBTQ youth", scientists can say "yeah, ok, I'll switch gears and start studying geriatric erectile disfunction" or they can say "My ass it isn't! Who the hell are you to say what is science?"

The "fun" part is that I charged the costs on my own grant, not on the lab grant. So I sign up the authorization for myself to reimburse myself.

And not everyone is in the mental position to go to their PI and say, I don't have money saved for this. If you want me to go to this fancy conference you will have to pay all in advance.

You can ignore questions pre-submitted for the townhall over this matter, but you couldn't ignore people standing up and making the question in person. Still feel bullshitted, but at least you had to answer
