Remember: fascism means control of information. They can compel US companies by fair means or foul. Don't think they'll go light on this just because they say "free speech" a lot.

Keep an eye out for signs that bluesky may be compromised by Trump/Musk. Anything against them that gets taken down, strange dropoffs in dissenting message reach could all be signs this platform is suppressing anti-Trump speech. Regroup on mastodon, preferably an instance outside the US.

The impressive thing is that they need not get elected to do so. This is the power of social media in the hands of a US fascist. This power extends into everyone else's back garden.

It won't be long until they cow their moderators completely or even get direct access to the systems of big companies. All trying to organise against Trump on there at that point will do is get people on a list.

There's another flag they'll raise after the white one.

Usually ranking fascist officials don't get arrested while their government is in power. Might need some fresh ideas here

Yeah they donated $1m to Trump. No better than Elon Musk and X now tbh

Noooo, the tech bros like people like Musk. I'm asking you if you installed Linux because screw the billionaires

Not sure what you need windows for these days. Linux is even great for gaming now as it got all the compatibility Valve supported for the steam deck. Office is all cloud now anyway so you don't even need Windows to use it. Maybe like industry grade video editing but then wouldn't you have a Mac?

I hope you get those grifters, that's terrible

All the billionaire tech guys are doing what Trump wants, why not Starmer? 😐

Genuinely amazing how quickly they're going from titans of industry to overpaid court jesters

I think the issue is that you can only really celebrate at the point something reaches consensus, or risk being the 'victim' of a debunk, at which point things have already started to seem a bit like old news. I guess it's best to get comfortable with old news

Copying? It's totally making a fool out of them. Rug pulled. It's like somebody managed to make a top of the line MacBook for $20 kind of thing

That's how e.g. o1 and o3 operate under the hood. OpenAI just hides the thought process to make it harder to copy and criticise.

Competition is probably too loose of a term. It's like if somebody came along and showed you how to build a nice house for $300 and started giving a bunch away for free.
Actually, China, if you see this don't let me stop you

It's not even lightly challenging today. Suppose you could do a Gentoo install if you want to be lightly flagellated by the process?

Apparently spending most of your waking life pretending to align with company values is the pinnacle of freedom or something

Yes.
Someone dedicated to conformity will always lack creativity.

with copilot you can spend 98% of your time googling error messages generated by a tool that discouraged you from reading the docs in the first place

Same with Zuckerberg and Bezos tbh, they're just not as far down the K hole yet. Or maybe it's KKK hole...
