Well, I don't have a Ph.D., but I do have one peer reviewed work in the prestigious IEEE ISCAS journal, and one in a lesser IEEE journal. That lesser work is more important to me, it's error correction of arithmetic. But it was rejected out of hand by the ARITH folks who just assumed it was trash.

You're confusing free speech with facts. I can't reverse ALL the ignorance in the world, and I doubt you can either. Free speech is just about all you have to work with.

It's always a trade-off. For one, that's why papers are peer reviewed to begin with. As for oil companies sponsoring people promoting bad work, that's the world we live in. A world of dis-information. That being said, freedom of speech is still most important.

But it's clean and quite powerful. Hydrogen fuel for rockets is probably a better idea than Space-X's fuel solution which includes kerosene. Hydrogen is the fundamental "fuel source" for fusion reactors, and I certainly hope that gets developed soon. I stand corrected, it can be a fuel too.

Technically speaking, hydrogen is not a fuel source, it is an energy conduit.

Most EV's are in China. If we allowed importation of Chinese automobiles, and without tariffs, then Americans could get them for $10,000. I heard lately that China is putting a 1GW solar power plant on-line every day on average. USA is only putting 30 on-line in a year.

I saw an interesting clip of Carl Sagan recently where he essentially argued that science is not just a body of knowledge, but it includes the education of people and their capability to be skeptical. He was concerned that technology would be in the hands of few, and the rest would be subservient!

I'm not sure how many publish-for-profit or fake papers conspiracy theorists actually read, quite frankly.

This is very true, but getting people to actually pay for saving their families future has been shown to be difficult. The issue is reversing climate change is expensive, requires forethought and intelligence and demands sacrifice, and it seems so many want something for nothing.

How does that make sense if the plug-in-hybrid gets a superior MPG rating?

It might be that a continuous fusion process requires a fast and periodic quantum computer calculation! Until then, you can train a neural network!

I don't know which is worse, Musk's generators pumping out hazardous gases, or Musk getting a hold of Powerful AI. Wait, I do know, it's the latter!

The gas and oil industry will always play their tricks. Working around this industry might be best. Spreading hopeful narrative about mitigating climate change has significant impact. Ultimately, we all must change many behaviors, and that is most difficult.

While some may not like the idea of alien life being angles, or even demons, people of the past that had to call them something! The real issue is whether aliens in our immediate sphere are hostile to humanity. What aliens see is humanity with thermonuclear weapons pointed at themselves.

Seems to me that most alien contact is one on one with ordinary people. Not sure how much you want that!

probably alien overlords. We would probably make an ideal sub-species for them.

There are those who believe if humanity had proof there was other intelligent life in the Universe, that we would somehow learn how to get along and co-exist on our earth peacefully. I for one never believed that for one second.

Well sure they are. They're running a multi-billion dollar business! That's how it goes. But nothing is stopping anyone from buying an EV. Nothing is stopping homeowners from installing solar. I did both and found out it was cheaper.

Oil and gas companies will invest in non-renewable fuels as long as customers burn that fuel in their automobiles. But if the U.S. allowed electric vehicles from China without tariffs, you could buy quality EVs for about $10,000. That would (once again) change the agenda for oil and gas companies.
