Really?? I think most people do know that. Canada is a huge landmass but the vast majority of the population is within 100 miles of the border

P.S. There are avian flu outbreaks in many countries right now, and yet most (I did not say “all” because I haven’t done a survey of the 100+ countries with outbreaks) do not have the runaway egg prices that we are seeing.
This is illegal price fixing. It’s just happening in the US.

Mark, do you think you could survive on a mere half billion dollars? If you could manage it (god forbid), all those extra billions sure would do more good in other hands

In my humble opinion, you should cover this on Pop Culture Happy Hour, and have @kvanaren.bsky.social on to discuss whether this is or isn’t a 16 hour movie 😇

I will say one last thing on this note. Every single caretaker my mom has had in recent weeks is an immigrant. Those of us with souls already knew that this country would not function without immigrants but certain demographics are about to fuck around and find out.

The r0 for pertussis is around 14, and the Tdap booster drops below 50% vaccine efficacy at 4.5 years. If it's been more than 4-5 years since your last Tdap booster, get one of those too. Get them now while they are still available.

The quote from the physician in this article is so good, too.
I want to see more people refuse to legitimize these delusions with obedience. As it turns out, the people CONSENT to be governed.

If you actually read the article, it’s obvious that the staffer is *opposed* to their organization’s cowardice. Read the article.

Read the actual article. The *staffer* was obviously livid at the organization’s choice to sacrifice trans kids. You’re blaming the person who was *against this.*

The funny thing is you actually underestimated. Chuck Grassley is in his 90s. Won’t someone think of his re-election???

Musk made this exact same "deferred resignation" offer at Twitter. And then he used the list of people who accepted it as a list of people to fire within days of "sign ups" closing.
They'll try the same thing here. Fire them in February and claim they waived protections by accepting the offer.

It’s a two party system, so basically the trolley problem. Can’t walk away and call yourself a hero for doing nothing. Oh well.

He could stop weapons transfers to the IDF, agree with the ICC that Netanyahu is a war criminal, and order immediate massive military support for Ukraine--and issue pardon every officer who follows his orders.
No, these would not stand after January, but all would help or at least give some hope! 🧵
