Repeating the standard message: if you were born before 1989, there's a good chance you didn't get both doses of MMR vaccine as a child, and there are people who lose immunity over time. If your insurance will pay for a titer test to check immunity, get one done. If not, get a booster.

Pertussis was insanely bad. I lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks and could neither eat or sleep during the worst of it.
