Just been nattering to our window cleaner. He’s been doing our windows for 40 yrs😳 He’s a bloody good bloke I worked for him cleaning windows for a fortnight back in September 1986, I was 18. Remember the date well as the Colwich rail disaster happened that week with 86211 & 86429

What is it with politicians & pulling stupid faces? Firstly we stupid Blair with his cheesy stupid grin Then stupid Starmer with his simpleton look Finally stupid Farage with his wide mouth tree frog look No wonder stupid orange Trump became President With a face like his it was nailed onšŸ˜‚

Was looking at doing the Great Central Railway tomorrow with how hot it’s been & taking advantage of the subbed diesel service Fingers were crossed that 50017 was out to play again. Surprisingly they’ve reintroduced steam services for tomorrow’s timetablešŸ¤”

Currently booking a week in Norfolk on the North Norfolk coast for next year After Cornwall in September we’re going to have a break from the South West, just maybe do a mini weekend break Norfolk, Suffolk, North Wales & Northumberland are the area’s we want to visit

A bit quiet today. Think I’ve picked up a bug or something as felt under the weather since last night Very dehydrated too Normally feel wired up ready to achieve anything Today it seems a struggle to concentrate on the slightest thing

Heard that this is old Thunderguts 50008 Waiting on another piece of info regarding another hoover before I decide what will happen Thursday www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-n...

We’ve not had this one for a while so here you are What a duffer

Schindlers List 1993 Absolutely brilliant film

Anyone know how long the steam ban at the Great Central Railway will last? This weekend they’ve had 37714 & 50017 plus the DMU Could’ve done it on Saturday straight from Devon BuggeršŸ™

Bit of a result tonight on my first shift back at work Was offered same day holiday Wasn’t turning that down

Bloody Nora😳

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

It’s 10:45pm & 24c Gave up being in the house So sat out in the courtyard garden having a brew as I’m up all night

Says it’s 31c here in our little town garden Highest we had in Devon was 24c which was just about bearable so struggling to adjust Had a 3 hr nap/sauna earlier to catch up on sleep after last nights lack off Reckon I’ll be sat outside most of the night Rain did nothing to cool things down

Got a flapjack with my coffee at Gloucester services The second I started munching on it this lot appeared & started watching me with great interest & quacking madly Sorry guys😁

Had glorious weather in Devon all week Look a bit overcast as we left It followed us up to North West Leicestershire & it’s started raining just as the first lot of washing was going out Bugger Back in work tomorrow night Bugger again

Morning Cars packed, bit of brekkie then 225 miles to drive homešŸ™ Newbies turned up last night Hit the local nightlifešŸ¤” Rolled passed very worse for wear at 1am, shouting, dogs barking & little kids crying. Repaid for keeping us awake by taking rubbish out & loading car very loudly at 6am😁

Been out & fetched a cheeky Chinese as didn’t want to do the big salad/fish thing again Pilchards, mackerel, salmon, tuna steak, done the lot this week Suns gone over the apartment now & the temps dropped to a lovely 20c so off for a few drinkies then packing when we get back

Last Saturday at the Bodmin & Wenford Doesn’t seem 5 mins agošŸ™ Never mind we’re back in September for some more jolly 16 cylinder thrash, pasties & beer😁

Not been a bad week down in Devon, both weather & locos D2133, D3452, D3721, 08444, 25262, 33002, D6566, D6575, 37142, D6737, D7018, 47306, 50002, 50042, D1010, 57306, 57604, 66127, 66744 Power cars 43004, 43042, 43049, 43055, 43098, 43154, 43155, 43186 Plus umpteen units

Just gone outside for my first beer of the day Promptly came back in The chalet acts as a massive wind break so no sea breeze where we sit and drink and have dinner & its 25c out there The sun doesn’t leave the area until around 7pm this time of year

GBRF class 66 loco 66744 & GBRF class 57 loco 57306 are caught passing Dawlish Warren on a beautiful day on 20th June 2025 working 0C57 from Penzance T & RSMD light engine move to Bristol East Depot My first GBRF class 66 down here & my first sighting of a GBRF liveried class 57 Lovely stuff

Teignmouth estuary & Shaldon from the Ship Inn public house Strangely I didn’t fancy a pint of Korev here Opted for a refreshing lime & soda instead😳 Must’ve caught a bit of sunstroke yesterday in the heat of Minehead

Class 166 unit 166201 is at Teignmouth on 20th June 2025 with a GWR service bound for Paignton One bus an hour £3 single fare 25 mins Two trains an hour £11 return 9 mins with a lovely sea view

Dawlish Warren 20th June 2025 Temp 23c 🄵 Double bubble class 150’s are heading for Exmouth while a class 166 unit 166214 is seen about to depart with a Paignton service Better service in Devon than in Cornwall which is a shame

Anyone have any ideas as to what this working is? Did think it was 66744 returning but that went to Plymouth This is coming up from Penzance Cheers for any help Carl www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-n...

Ok it’s not a 158 but it’ll do Not a bus at least Class 166 unit 166214 is seen at Dawlish Warren with a Paignton service on 20th June 2025

Morning Finally out of bed at just gone 9am! Think catching the 09:50 to Teignmouth is out the window & I’m not catching the bus thing Think it’ll be the 10:50 At least I’ll get to see & phot the Castle Class Hst 😁 Every cloud has a silver lining Another beautiful day here in Devon ā˜€ļø

Staying local tomorrow Probably Teignmouth & surrounding area Back home Saturday šŸ™ Gone too quick for my liking

The Quantock hills Mountain biked around this area a few times in the past Bloody hard work it was too Was after I’d given up on the rail hobby so after the mid 90’s so around my 30’s (When I was much younger & therefore a lot fitteršŸ™)
