He permits them to be assholes. He confirms their bias and perpetuates their misunderstanding of complex issues. Most issues are complex and require thinking and empathy to understand. He alleviates them of thinking. A munchkin that forced people to eat cockroaches on TV is their guiding light. 🙄

This brain drain is not just students & postdocs it’s everywhere. My husband & I both science PhDs in the private sector making a good 💰 will likely leave the US even if it means making less. We’d rather live in a EU social democracy than a hellish kakistocracy. What makes US great are leaving.
