RIP Rick Buckler The Jam were my band as a kid & I loved his drumming and the way it ferociously propelled their songs. This was his best work. I found it thrilling every time I heard it. youtu.be/EndqhHJx-Ko?...

🧵"So this is how liberty dies..." Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up. I’ve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9

Oh please. Since when has out-bastarding Farage ever worked? You just pull political debate to the right, punch down on the vulnerable, whip up prejudice and actually deliver naff all. Look at the last 14yrs of Farage-induced failure. For love of god, be better. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

One of the best Marianne pics ever. Hell, one of THEE best pics ever

She slid through life on charm. Marianne Faithfull R.I.P.

RIP Marianne Faithful. So sad. Here are some songs to remember her by open.spotify.com/playlist/3VC...

Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

It really baffles me why some think it's okay to be shitty to a generation of young people who gave up THE MOST to protect their elders, have had THE CRUELLEST possible transition to adulthood, are getting THE LEAST amount of state help, and are facing THE WORST future prospects.

Not to be dramatic, but there really are days when I feel scared of the future. Like, to pick an example at random, today. What we are witnessing is an assault on the very concept of truth. The armed conflicts we see unfolding all over the world will be accompanied by turmoil &doubt in our heads.

Fact-checking is not censorship. Requesting evidence is not censorship. Refuting falsehoods is not censorship. Stopping a lie from travelling halfway round the world before the truth has got its boots on is not censorship. But Zuckerberg's grovelling to Trump will sure as hell lead to censorship.

So, let's try doing #duvetknowitschristmas here this evening? People are literally Driving Home For Christmas right now, which MIGHT JUST mean that they'll be sleeping somewhere unusual. 1/

Two months into retirement and project one is about to come to fruition....eek!

Yes it could be argued that keeping up with world events is important but alternatively can I interest you in hugging an ancient mossy boulder that looks like a face and quietly listening while it tells you stories from centuries cloaked in mist.

"In a world full of people who seem to know everything, passionately, based on little (often slanted) information, where certainty is often mistaken for power, what a relief it is to be in the company of someone confident enough to stay unsure (that is, perpetually curious)."

Finally watched Perfect Days this week & just wow, what a beautiful, brilliant film. A true expression of life’s ever-present sweetness and sadness, most succinctly captured by the final scene. Kōji Yakusho broke my heart into thousands of reconstitutable pieces. Can’t recommend it enough. #FilmSky
