So some Republicans are hesitant about Caine because of his Mideast stance but they had no hesitation about Gabbard, Patel or Hegseth? Go figure.

Well let's see what Susan Collins says now since she's helped enable Trump all along

I've been against every prior possible government shutdown, but I hope the Dems don't cave on this.

Sadly the bigger question is for the 1/3 of eligible voters who chose to sit back and let this happen.

I should clarify. It's Trump's goal to have Americans fighting Americans which is how Russia would like to see us destroyed from within. It's not my goal.

But who will define what actions are meant to save the country,?
comment in response to

He'll foment violence to declare martial law which was his failed goal on January 6th.

His comment is probably twofold to signal his followers not to worry as he'll pardon them

Does it matter when the goal is simply to have Americans fighting Americans?

Do it, please!

Not sure why he thought giving up his Senate seat was a good idea.

Unfortunately too many people will believe this. The same people mistakenly believe that because a prosecutor doesn't bring charges means a person has been deemed to be innocent. Critical thinking ability seems to have gone down the drain with the Kool aid drinkers.

I don't think anyone who believes the crap these nominees are spouting at their hearings has the intellectual capacity to safely make decisions that affect our country's safety. Time and again she's been proven wrong when she chooses not to believe the facts presented.

Maybe she should start by repaying her PPP loan.

How much of an honor is it really when he was voted in by his flunkies? Doesn't POTUS have more important things to do?
comment in response to
post
Well he did say he only needed people to vote for him one more time and then voting would no longer be necessary.
comment in response to

If only our elected representatives would also be more concerned about doing what's right than they are in their next election.

It's all about the money, but will they actually see any of it? Or will Musk sign off on the taxpayers footing the bill?
comment in response to

Does anybody really believe that individuals with no knowledge of the agency under review can find evidence of massive amounts of fraud in the matter of a few hours?

Just how stupid do they think we nonMAGAS are? We know how stupid they think the MAGSs are.
comment in response to

Just because he's chosen to abdicate his responsibilities doesn't mean the judiciary should. If anything gets to SCOTUS I think we know how Alito, Thomas and probably Gorsuch will vote. Sadly relying on Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett to uphold the Constitution.

So does anybody know if all those subsidies Musk gets have been frozen or if they've gotten an unpublished exemption approval?

Rubio chose to sell his soul to the devil. He's nothing but another Trump lackey.

Instead of stores marking up prices on products due to tariffs I'd like them to simply add a tariff charge that will show directly on their receipt.

They should also invite people participating in clinical trials to explain how cutting NIH funding on trials already in progress may result in their death.
comment in response to

Well I have to say my favorite part of this was Trump asking the reporters if they knew what a bully was and then saying bullies are weak. If he's not a classic case of a bully l don't know what is.

Did I miss it or did nobody say anything about also accepting the parents of the children? Are they going to require them to be separated?
comment in response to

Aside from Alito and Thomas I bet the other three right wing justices really didn't realize they were making themselves superfluous when they gave trump immunity.

Because of Sharpiegate and the fool in the White House.

Wait! Does this mean we'll not have access to the Euro models for hurricanes? They seem to be the most accurate year end and year out.

Trump sold himself to Musk and now Musk has all the control. He may think he can fire him but I'm afraid we're beyond that. Donald Trump 💯 owns what happens, not only in this country but in others where their policies are enabling autocrats and no longer supporting democracy.

Really, once Kushner made his statement on air about beach front development in Gaza what did anyone expect? If you're surprised your head's been buried in the sand.

The halted research that has the ability to cause the most immediate harm is that involving clinical trials. Where is the media in trying to reach out to enrollees to get them to speak out?

Just look up the definition of narcissistic sociopath. Nice plea but you're dreaming if you think either one cares

I can't help but wonder how many chicken / egg producers suffering losses due to bird flu are MAGA supporters and how many will be calling for the Federal government to bail them out.

There's not a pious bone in his body. It's disgraceful to stand up in church claiming to be a changed man when his shut down of USAID will result in the death of thousands either by disease or starvation. And those who applauded have no shame.

Yet Elon freaked out when someone shared info about his plane.

Not to mention how grossly unethical and immoral it is to put these volunteers to work. Shame on Marco Rubio.

Many of these changes will end up harming Americans from all walks of life, though some of that harm won't be immediately evident. Research done outside of US also benefits Americans.

Unfortunately too many Americans are ignorant of all the work the FBI does to protect us and how these retaliatory actions against people just doing their job have the potential to cause great harm.

Democratic Senators should be voting NO for every nominee that will not acknowledge that Trump lost the 2020 election. If they're going to lie about that they'll lie about anything.

Aside from just the rhetoric, the dismantling of USAID makes Americans traveling to certain areas less safe due to increased disease risk. This would include our government employees such as State Department and our military.

There are some things that just should be regulated the same throughout the country and workplace safety is one of those things.

What I found most interesting in the article is that it seems there would be a way to revoke Musk's citizenship.

Trump also said Elon gets approval for all his actions from him so don't let Trump fool you into thinking he isn't ultimately responsible for any hardships that occur. When he says make America great, he isn't talking about you and me. He's only for his oligarchs.

What I don't understand is why the media, in reporting these stories, doesn't place more emphasis on how the perpetrator obtained the weapons.

How appropriate that Trump will be sitting with the NFL owner that helped downplay the pedophilia in the New Orleans diocese. Both amoral hypocrites.
comment in response to

Follow the money. I'd like to see every article about people who cave to the bully include how money figures into the picture. Most of these people have already made enough money to live on the rest of their lives.

Trump said that Elon gets his approval for everything so make sure to blame the correct person for the fallout.

💯. Trump is a bully, and bullies are generally cowards. He's betting they won't stand up to him. We can only hope they do since Congress is failing.
