This clip is amazing. Conclusion is spot on.

Boy, it must be nice to live life with your fingers in your ears and your eyes closed, just being handed jobs for which you are totally unqualified.

God, he looks miserable. He's been waiting his whole life to get away, and he just realized there is no place far enough.

Must pay extra for these bottles. Cash only. Good business model.

Wow, what a terrific painting. Just an instant feeling of tranquility. Well done.

The big question is: how is this the Democratic Party's fault? They made him self declare it, and now they are victimizing him for the mistake? Looking forward to the explanation.

Well that sucks. Plus, he was playing for the A's. Maybe they will trade him and he can someday work his way back up to a real big league team.

Is it that more people are only happy when others are miserable, or is it that we see more of them now thanks to social media?

This was Lake Superior yesterday, almost like glass. Likewise, the photo does not do it justice.

You earned all the love. Amazing content, look forward to it every time I log on. Rock on.

How amazing that must have been in person.

I was not as familiar with the skyway pre-pandemic, so I would be curious to get someone else's perspective on its progress.

Didn't even see that. Yup, that's accurate then. I should really read things before I comment.

Right, of course, the Suns. I've heard the Clippers arena is amazing (so many bathrooms). I guess I'm the mean one now.
comment in response to post
What do you mean, boss? Totally random placement. It says what? Hmm, curious, I'll have a look.
comment in response to post
That's mean, Onion. Ten years ago, totally accurate. Maybe the Clippers are more accurate now?

I just told my kids that i think there are some people in this world who will avoid accountability for their actions. Trump may be one of those people. Mind you, everyone around him is in the danger zone - the anger will be directed at them, and he will yeet them at the crowd like a quokka mother.

Good on the defender for just sitting down and watching the bucket. Sometimes it's best just to acknowledge when you get beat.

It feels like it would especially make sense if the belief system is providing comfort. Considering the way people perceive the state of the world, they don't want to lose their port in the storm. It's like a victim of abuse being more scared of the unknown, so they defend the abuser.
comment in response to post
It also means you have guilt as well as sorrow, right? Which is probably worse, I'm guessing, since you have to carry guilt on your own, whereas people will help you with sorrow. I don't know, just trying to understand so I don't end up in the same boat.

Also, I'm sure the writing and graphic leaf print is altogether centered, but my eyes feel like it's left justified. And my brain does not like left justified text inside a circle of other text. I think I may have had a mini stroke just now.

Reagan talked often about "starving the beast," shrinking government by starving it of tax revenue. It doesn't work as well when not funded, so people look to private companies to fill the gap. Which makes the argument for privatization. It's depressing because it's been effective.

Cool, thanks. Had no idea there even was a Joss Whedon version. If it was free and seemed made quickly, perhaps that's why I hadn't heard about it. Very little marketing, I guess?
comment in response to post
I have not seen the version you are watching. I love Nathan Fillion. However, it would be hard to imagine anything being better than the absolute chaotic stupidity that Keaton brought to that role. Stole the show from some amazing actors.

This is definitely not said enough. The simpler the appliance, the harder it is to change the clock. My microwave has been at 00:00 for five years because I couldn't figure out how to set it and just gave up.

Didn't John Belushi used to do that all the time in Chicago? I thought I read that in a book about SNL. And people loved it when he would show up. Maybe I'm making that up, but I hope not.

In the same vein, a NYT writer recently suggested that Trump is asking all the right questions, he just has all the wrong answers. But he has answers. Democratic party members have not been good at asking the questions; they instead seem to insist they know the questions better and have the answers.

Bonus shot of my kids staring out of the skyway a long time ago. Day off from school, it was so cold I took them walking through it so I could park my car in a garage for the day. Pre COVID.

I'm starting to see signs of a revival, but I try not to get my hopes up too high. I've seen some work on storefronts that have been vacant for years, seeing movement in others. Hopefully, piece by piece, progress.

I brought a first date to Schindler's List. Did not know what it was about. We did not go the distance.

I wonder if he knows, deep down, that he is accelerating into his own fall? Or if he is so confident in himself that he thinks he can pull out of the skid at the right time? Will he get those govt contracts in place before Trump uses him as a flak jacket and his shareholders vote him out?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I feel the same way about the hit, even now. Just an absolute assault that wasn't given the card it deserved. I meant about feeling old - the resolution of the video makes me feel old every time. My fault for not being clearer.
comment in response to post
If you watch the clip of Schumacher again and see the resolution, you may feel different. That is when I guaranteed feel my age: when a favorite clip in my memory is basically 8 bit resolution.

The tech moguls were never going to stand up. They were likely all bullied growing up, and they learned how to survive: roll over. Trump is a bully. Learned behavior kicked in and they survive again. It doesn't matter how much you lift weights or do martial arts if you never learned self respect.

More likely they will reduce the cost of living adjustment. She will still get her check, but the amount will increase less than her expenses. It may take her a while before she figures out why the end of the month keeps getting tighter.

Plus, I don't think the goal is for truth and disinformation to be indistinguishable, but it is a side effect that is difficult to solve for. And no one is pausing to solve for it right now, because speed is the incentive. AI is a latchkey toddler right now, parents too busy at parties to educate.
comment in response to post
It doesn't. That's why the AI summary is wrong enough that you can't trust it without validating...from the Google search results...which is why you were there in the first place. AI is making things faster by making them slower.

What about the anxiety you feel if you do post it, that fear in the back of your mind that someone else did post the same joke and you just missed it while scrolling?
comment in response to post
I'm sure you are not at all worried about that whole goalie thing. Not like anyone's brought it up or made a big deal about it the past few weeks.

I always felt bad for Scott Stapp. It seemed like the music from the first album, arguably their best, always either caused him or reminded him of the pain he was feeling when he wrote it. But when he tried to move past it and embrace more upbeat themes, he got pilloried for it. Tough beat.

I think the "showing up" part is the most important. Heck, bring a camera crew to document what's happening and how the law is being skirted. Fed workers are scared and it's hard not to do what DOGE wants, but DOGE workers are human and might be less likely to push with a rep and camera there.

Your work here is done. Amazing job.

Especially if it happens on TV - that's the Achilles heel.

You can't, I don't think. Might as well lean into it and make sure they are using it correctly. Nothing more embarrassing than your kid using curse words wrong.

Agreed. If Dems in office are doing anything, it doesn't feel like it, doesn't sound like it, and we wouldn't know it if they did. It feels like Dems are still searching for the higher moral ground. Guess what? You are already on it, now use it. Or did you forget the purpose of higher ground?
