Trans people have long warned that most of the victims of anti-trans laws and policies would be cis women and girls who don't have the "right look."

I was at my doctor’s office today and asked if I should consider an MMR vaccine or titer because I am an old. They were perfectly happy to give me an MMR. If you, too, are an old, you might consider the same. With measles in (at least) 10 states, I figure it’s only a matter of time.

👏 THIS is the energy we want to see during next week's congressional recess! If your representative or senator is avoiding accountability by refusing to have a town hall, host one yourself and put them on blast. We've put together a detailed toolkit to help make it happen: indivisible.org/musk...

Squee!

I voted “Withhold” on the REI Board of Directors nominees. If you’re a member, consider doing the same.

Call your reps. Tell them not to attend.

If you are a constituent of a Democratic or Independent Member of Congress, call them and urge them not to attend the State of the Union address. Congress should not pretend things are normal.

I need news pieces I can share with people who don’t follow the news. Too often, less-informed people feel like they’ve walked into the middle of the conversation, which turns them further away.

Very important question! Why don’t people cover their food when using shared microwaves?

By the way, just in case anyone asks, of course you don’t know who is leading these groups.

NEWS: In USDA, multiple people have been asked to report the names of LGBTQ employee resource group leaders to higher-ranking officials, according to interviews with workers and a document reviewed by Mother Jones. + similar in the Department of the Interior

There are a few places in this country that serve as testing grounds for conservative tactics, places where you can see the future before it arrives elsewhere. Coeur D'Alene, Idaho is one of those places -- I've written about it before This video should scare the absolute shit out of everyone

If you're trying to figure out what to do right now, my advice is to just pick a thing that you think might be useful in some way, however small, and do it. Doing a thing leads you to doing another, bigger thing, and prepares you for that next thing.

NEW: On Section 504. "Attacks on any one group will be used as a wedge to attack all of us. You may not personally know any trans people, and you may even be uncomfortable with the idea ... but letting this attack go forward will eventually hurt you and the things you love, too." /1

My lab group is doing a research study on cargo bike users in North America. If you are a cargo bike user and have a minute to take the survey we'd love to hear from you. Or please feel free to share or repost for other cargo bike users. Many thanks! pennstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

Someone remind me to comment on these proposed policy changes

If you’re not currently in the crosshairs of the current administration, find someone who is and support them. These Minnesota healthcare practitioners will need us to have their backs.

Let’s show groups like this some love for standing up against bigotry.

I must have my “sympathetic listener” face on today. Gonna need to rummage around and find a resting bitch face so I can get some of my own work done, I guess.

Repost with your best apocalypse if you’d like. I can knit socks. You’ll have to wait a few weeks for a sock, though, plus this skill is predicated on my ability to loot abandoned yarn stores.

Hey you - yeah YOU, person who called your senators, visited their office, attended a rally, or sent an email this week. Check out what you're capable of. Keep it up.

So disappointed by yet another capitulation by @amyklobuchar.com.

Apropos of… whatever… What’s the best way to get a regular backup of all of my work and documents off of my OneDrive?

Uh, so do we file our taxes? Asking for myself and 140 million of my friends.

I’m always amazed they leave me unsupervised with all this stuff.

I just did this- and it felt amazing. The customer service rep was BEYOND grateful to hear some positive feedback. She told me it filled her heart and it honestly filled mine as well. Spreading positivity is the best, y’all! (FYI, press 3 then press 0.) Thanks @pronounced-ing.bsky.social

Here is something you can do right now

Call Senator Smith and thank her for pressing RFK Jr on his dangerous ideas in this confirmation hearing.

I borrowed a popover pan from my local library! We had ham and gruyere popovers for dinner.

Even if you expect your senators to agree with you, it’s worth calling because then they can use numbers to persuade their colleagues that the electorate is not cool throwing any group under the bus.

I made this call (to both Senator Amy Klobuchar and Senator Tina Smith). They've both campaigned on LGBTQ+ rights in the past but I want to make it really really clear that I want them to vote against this, block this, stand up against this, and rally other Democrats to oppose this.
