Getting a bit in my feelings with the #Leopards.

For Blue Monday we can't think of anything more appropriate than this charming depiction of a man getting his face eaten off by a leopard. #MosaicMonday

in unrelated news, I wish I could show this to my six year old self eating spaghetti hoops on toast and avidly watching Star Trek back in the early 70s

I can only thank Franchesca once again for her patience and generosity of spirit. Time after time she has credited me when it would have been so easy just to let it slide. Please, visit her shop and check out her fantastic designs. shop.franchesca.net

Just been described (approvingly) as a 'joyless pedant'

Brief summary of my time on Twitter: Eye of newt does not mean mustard seed, the Easter Bunny is not a pagan remnant, 'blood is thicker than water' is not only half of the 'real' phrase, Samhain was not a time 'when the veil between worlds grew thin', and the black goo is not Deacon's blood

Ronald Hutton! The man himself! www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAbG...

'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party.

Your daily reminder that it’s OK for first drafts of anything to be rough around the edges, like this original concept sketch for the facehugger in “Alien,” drawn by screenwriter Dan O’Bannon

@cavalorn.bsky.social ... Someone sang one of your tweets www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8HpTGuf/

hello my name is jrr tolkien and i wrote a whole book series about what it would be like if some funny little guys who just like to hang out and eat and have friends were drafted into a nightmarish conflict vastly beyond their understanding and were forever changed by it also wwi was normal for me

GENE RODDENBERRY: I’m creating a progressive new science fiction TV show about multiculturalism and having respect for other peoples & societies GENE RODDENBERRY: so this character, from Scotland, GENE RODDENBERRY: his name is Scotty GENE RODDENBERRY: he’s an alcoholic

Performance, line delivery, is music. Without contrast, feeling, sustains, drops, hesitations, dirtiness... the character isn't thinking, feeling, reacting. It's monotone. Unnatural. A lie. But with it, it can break your heart or make you sing.

My favourite fact about Iceland is that we have many, many crime writers but only one forensic pathologist, and he was so busy answering all of their questions that he decided to have a small seminar for writers to get some peace. It immediately sold out so he had another one that also sold out.

[Getting a feel for the crowd] So, uh, what's the deal with British food? They sure hate spices over there! And you hear they just let the cats go out wherever?

Finding mutuals on here like the dead recognizing one another's faces on the far shore of the river we must all cross

Gorgeous illustration by Ricardo Martinez inspired by The Tiger poem by 6 year old Nael. The tiger He destroyed his cage Yes YES The tiger is out

problem here so far, as far as I can tell, is that there aren't any real antagonists yet, we look like the villagers in a novel pleasantly going about our boring lives waiting for plot to happen to us

Like not to do my one bit - but stuff like what is happening over at the bird site is how you get a "dark ages". There was a bunch of writing. It has been mishandled. It will be lost. That's all it takes! Now do that over 1200 years. Rich guys have been fucking up since time immemorial.

welcome to all new bluesky users. please keep in mind that it is still in beta. there are many features still missing, so please be patient. for example, you may notice that this app loads posts and then shows them to you, instead of not doing that for some reason.

And this morning the Shed is an underground shelter, guarded by robot mastiffs, in which a rebel army awaits its time to overthrow the world...

Feels like jumping into a parallel, slightly less doomed timeline.
