This is insanity.

Is there any hope left that we can still turn this around and be a respectable country again?

I think so, yes. The GOP is getting absolutely hammered by their constituents at town halls back home.
It’s going to be interesting to see if they have any more of a backbone when they get back to DC. It doesn’t take many Republican defectors to completely change the calculus in DC.

Where are the briefings? Where's the plan to push back. Dems should be out there everyday, consistently debunking, fighting disinformation, explaining what's going on to the dim wits out there, and why they should care.

Sure will. He's good to have seated next to on any flight. Especially if you're jittery. My sweaty grip has made his hands turn white more than once!

Thing is, this is core training for them. If they can't land safely, they abort landing and circle for another attempt. Something went badly or very unexpectedly wrong in Toronto.

Could be a wing clipping the ground, wind sheer. The wing tip is only 6 feet off the ground, so takes very little maneuvering for it to clip, skid, roll perhaps? Delta is calling it a landing incident.

Oh no, flipping in any vehicle is dangerous. Let alone a plane with only a waist seatbelt.

Per hubby, who's into aviation. The bolts that hold the wings on are designed to trigger/release in certain conditions (impact) and essentially the wings come away. This reduces the chance of the wings ripping the fuselage in half and causing greater injury.

Hubby is an aviation expert. He said the bolts that hold the wings on are designed to trigger in certain conditions (impact) and essentially the wings come away. This reduces the chance of the wings ripping the fuselage in half and causing greater injury.

More likely that it flipped on the runway. The wings have gone.

The impacted workers include personnel hired for FAA radar, landing and navigational aid maintenance, one air traffic controller told the Associated Press. The air traffic controller was not authorized to talk to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity.
