I wonder what the net cost in dollars-per-minute was for that executive to get involved in telling her she’d had enough. Compared to Disney’s in-house cost for comping the single ticket.

I heard of a case study of a guy who had no emotions, and he essentially couldn’t take care of himself because he was unable to judge the relative importance of anything. Unable to prioritize at all.

I have a theory that there’s a whole lot of lonely assholes out there whose social lives peaked as middle school pack bullies, who nostalgically hope that bigoted jokes and slurs could be their lifeline to building friendships again.

I'm always glad to see this affirmed in research, but there's some folks who consider weakness and inferiority to men a defining feature of femininity to be socially enforced by any means necessary, scientific facts be damned.

He’s gotten markedly less coherent over time. I wonder how much is the drugs and how much it’s just mental laziness and contempt for his audience. Verbal clarity is a skill that takes effort, and he might not feel the need to make that effort anymore.

“The Nazi-saluting, chainsaw-waving babydaddy billionaire who’s taking meemaw’s social security cheque away says Tim Walz is hurting his feelings.”

“Your honour, I only molested that kid because I saw a lady at the mall with a Hello Kitty mascot clipped on her designer purse. You should blame her, actually.”

He could pay millions and never feel it. He could set up an automated payment plan for 18 years and never have to think of this woman or child again. But he doesn’t, which means that he’s being a deadbeat out of some twisted sense of principle.

The instructions were to do that, but while also crossing ankles and somehow still keeping both soles flat on the floor next to each other. Wobble, flop, thud.
And I was doing this IN THE LIBRARY because the book was not allowed to be loaned out. 🙃

Years later, decades later really, I realized the book was written back when most girls weren’t allowed to wear pants, and the tightly crossed ankles in all those crouched poses were probably an editorial addition to make them more modest and feminine.
And physically damn near impossible.

I was baffled — One was even described as the authentic way coal miners squatted for hours at a time. I wobbled over sideways every time.
I couldn’t figure out why they didn’t have diagrams.

My only concern about Chinese EVs is if they meet Canadian safety standards. And let’s keep in mind that Cybertrucks don’t: They’re only street legal in Canada because they got a special “we can’t afford to piss off all those wealthy voters who pre-ordered one” waiver.

Just setting up the excuses in advance that he, RFK and Trump aren’t responsible for any consequences of their own directives. “We were just issuing orders!”

And the United Way? Like... the wildly inoffensive generic all-purpose charity of office fundraisers? Seriously?

My guess is that this is meant as a flipped bird to his ex-wife, too.

He’s not a nerd. He aspires to be a nerd, because nerds have more charisma than he does.

I feel like they must be intentionally avoiding use of the word “rape” in that story, because that’s clearly what the victim is describing, and they’re calling it everything but.

So he invented… a brass nose? That perfectly fits in a tube in a box, except for the little bit that doesn’t?

I follow a lot of people in comics and illustration, and it seems like they’re getting higher-quality interest and interaction with their artwork here than they did at The Other Place.

Trump just spent a the last week making everyone play wack-a-mole with random tariffs changing day-by-day, in a blindingly obvious act of stock market manipulation, and now he’s blaming the stock market going down on “globalists”?

God, I hope so. Poilievre is way too comfortable with alt-right edgelords, he has undisclosed security clearance problems, and it’s especially obvious now that he has no idea what to do if he can’t parrot Republican ideas.

Nobody who’s seen the ridiculous prices they charge for a dismal hipster taco in Vancouver can think “Ah yes, this city is run by the Mexican cartels.”

The go-to move for manipulating men is attacking their masculinity, and holding them to toxic, juvenile, misogynistic and downright impossible standards. Unless you’re the opposite of any female in every way, you’ve failed. (Note how “scold” is implicitly feminine, too)

I guess that claiming they’d “RFK’d” the fries a couple days ago didn’t get the reaction they wanted. Definitely a choice when their branding is 50s Americana, not 30s Germany.

Land acknowledgments have been a regular practice at public gatherings here in Canada for a few years now, and it’s downright bizarre to see something that mundane characterized as “hysteria.”

News organizations cater to geriatric Boomers who really want to hear that they’re the only real adults in the room, and therefore entitled to keep everything to themselves.

Little spitfire extrovert guy who loves to solve people’s problems and his big palooka friend with super strength who’s actually an introverted softie. Little guy only has super strength when he swigs his magic potion. Together they fight Roman imperialism.

“Of course it’s misogyny to equate childlessness with self-indulgence, so I’m immediately going to equate childlessness with self-indulgence. I feel a vague dread as I write this, but I’m on a deadline, so I blame women for my discomfort and bravely forge ahead.”
