“We need to do better” -> we will never see reasonable Dreamcast addict grandpa anywhere close to power again “I told you so/we did nothing wrong/enjoy the camps, peasants” -> 2028 front runner

They’re also the first brand I encountered that made braided usb cables, so that counts for something, I suppose.

The best salesman believe their own pitch. You’re not going to hear the guy with the reasonable expectations of AI at CES or wherever.

🤷‍♂️ my opinion is that it’s going to happen, and it’s better if it’s front loaded. New players to the game should know there are combinations where it’s just “I win unless you have removal in hand” sooner rather than later. the idea of not living up to ur potential is fake. theres not some better version of u out there if u just tried harder. 99% of what people usually call "success" is luck of birth and chasing it will absolutely make u insane. try a bunch of things. it literally doesnt matter

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners It would have been 4.5 stars if I didn’t get duped into buying and playing a buggy open world game. A buggy open world game where cyber psychosis IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE. When it’s a big shadow looming over the anime story. 4/4

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (contd.) I’d argue that whole scene works better that way. Just the smooth slide of the face behind him, leering. Asking David if he and Alice did a horizontal tango. Even when Trigger cuts corners, they do it with panache. 3/?

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (contd.) Trigger got really good at hiding when they wanted to cheap out on the animation budget (which they do to fund much more epic segments). This is not an insult. Do you really need full, fluid animation when Maine is busting David’s chop and it’s just dialogue? 2/?

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022, rewatch) Even knowing the story beats, it still hits you in the feels. 4/5 stars 1/?

The Wiz (1978) Apparently there was some hidden darkness on set (of the macabre variety) 2.5/5 stars /2

Is this the Wilson Fisk from the Spiderman TAS (1994)?

The Wiz (1978) 1 star for execution and set design, 1 star for the chutzpah 2/5 stars

Common Side Effects, premiere S01E01-02 (2025) Good shit incoming, I hope they keep the levels of intrigue and suspense constant, and also stick the landing 4/5

Spiderman (2002) Ground zero for the MCU, but Mr Raimi is shorthand for fun. The CG did not age particularly well. 3.5/5 if the MCU didn’t overstay its welcome, 3/5 otherwise

Good use of Gogol Bordello and World Inferno. Rick Flagg is obviously a stand-in for the director, if you watch the opening. 3.5/5 stars 2/2

Creature Commandos S1 (2024) Got a weakness for the occasional capesh*t and capesh*t-adjacent shows. This one posits: “what if they did the suicide squad again, but they were old-timey monsters with sad backstories” and Frankenstein’s monster shows up as an entitled stalker. 1/2
