it’s been every campaign since 2008. dems get off on nothing more than reveling in their self-righteousness and correctness; it doesn’t gain trust or win elections. the only way that happens is through appeals to emotion—not tweeting about how it’s illegal or they were right (prices will go up).

no I want them to use natural language, communicate simply, and not act like they know they’re smarter than everyone else. Smugness is incredibly offputting to most voters who vote based on emotions and not rationality. We need to be emotional not just when we’re out of power, but when we are in it.
