To demonstrate my point, 77 had one of the first post-punk albums Marquee Moon, Pink Floyd's Animals, David Bowie's "Heroes", etc. 79 had Off the Wall, London Calling, Unknown Pleasures, The Wall... And 78 has what? Parallel Lines? Some solid but underwhelming efforts from iconic artists?

Like, there are albums that are held in high regard in certain subgenres, albums by iconic artists, and there are songs from albums in 1978 that are iconic, but actual albums that are in and of themselves, in their entirety, classics are few and far between.

I can pretty much always remember June, but I always have to think for a sec on the 7th, 8th, and 9th month.

I'm surprised to see Foxing in so many 10x10s on here. It's a great album, I'm glad people fw it, but I just hadn't heard much buzz about it until I started scrolling through these and I keep seeing it pop up.

This isn't the point, nor should it be, but I fear we're forgetting what the idea behind the "asking for a friend" bit was. You can't just ask a question (especially a rhetorical one) and add that on the end and have it work, its supposed to imply shame. There's no shame here. Real or imaginary.

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk. It wasn't an easy choice though. GNX, BRAT, I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU, lots of (specifically all caps) contenders. It's been a great year for music

P.S. Doing things like collecting physical media or buying merch from your favourite artists alongside streaming is also a big help!

And again, after trying out a bunch of services, Spotify is close to my least favourite user experience. I think maybe Napster (pre-NFT bullshit) was worse. Just consider trying out another service. There are websites out there that'll let you copy playlists over, just try out their trials.

Here's the amount of streams it takes to reach a dollar for each of the top streaming services: Spotify (post-threshold) - Regular: 295 - "Discovery": 420 Apple Music: 148 Amazon Music: 235 YouTube Music: 136 None of these rates are good, but some are at least workable.

Yeah, for some people music is a hobby in and of itself and for others it's a backing track to the other things happening in your life. There's always people who take certain things more or less seriously, but I find it really interesting how prevalent that divide is in music specifically.

If they can get the carbon emissions down, I'm all for AI being used like this. Summing things up, learning complex subjects in a more intuitive and personalized way, and particularly reverse dictionary functionality for finding the right words. I just think there's no positive for it in art.

Not Kendrick's best, but still an AOTY contender

I always switch it to left alt. It's far more reachable with my thumb and there's never a situation where I want to crouch and jump at the same time like there is for wanting to crouch and sprint (for sliding)

I think the AOTY level albums have been rated pretty fairly, but a level below that I'd say TANGK by IDLES deserves more love than it's getting

I'm team skeet, for sure. They cooked with that one
