A wall that blocks people out also blocks people in. From Frost's "Mending Wall:" "Before I built a wall I’d ask to know What I was walling in or walling out, And to whom I was like to give offense. Something there is that doesn't love a wall, That wants it down."

Today at CPAC, Trump lauded the impressive money-making magic of tariffs. What he failed to explain is why he let Canada and Mexico off the hook for tariffs a few long weeks ago. If tariffs are our new source of magic easy revenue, why let them negotiate their way out of it?

Can anyone explain why "less government" automatically equals "better government?" I've wondered this ever since Reagan was obsessed with shrinking the government. (He didn't. Like Trump, his cuts ballooned the debt.)

I don't want the media to tell me "both sides;" I want the media to show the evidence put forward by both sides. I want to know what the receipts show. Will that kind of journalism ever be done again, I wonder.

In my head, the negotiation went like this; T to U: Give me half of your minerals. U: No T, to P: Wanna split U's minerals? P: Da! Da!!! T, to World: P didn't do it!!! U did it!!! U did it!!! Slackjawed morons: If T says it's true, it's true.

Trump is telling people on Truth Social that "they might get a check." The New York Post reported it "might happen." I've popped my popcorn and am encouraging the MAGAs I know to run up their credit cards because soon they'll be getting that sweet, sweet bag.

May we someday be forgiven for what we've done to Ukraine.

In the years before WW1, European countries and some existing empires were feverish to build spiffy new modern armies. When you have boxes and boxes of hammers, the world is a nail. We want countries around the world to re-arm. Goodnight, Pax Americana. We're too stupid to deserve you anymore.

Elon's hobby is creating single-parent households. His goons respond, "At least they won't be leeches on the public dole." I respond, "Yes! Bags of cash will wipe their tears. Money will attend their dance recitals. Gold will hold them after nightmares. Diamonds will teach them family values!"

U.S. House Bill 114 has been submitted to Congress (step one of passing a law). If passed (I mean when passed), House Bill 144 will completely erase the existence of all provisions of the ACA, and end the federal-to-state Medicaid supplements that came with it. It's five sentences long. Google it.

The party that went ape-shit over Michelle Obama's garden at the White House will now MAHA: Make America Healthy Again. The same people who lost their effing minds at the suggestion they trade sugary treats for a freaking apple once in a while are now in charge of our health. This is gonna go great.

Looking forward to my spiffy new RFKjr health insurance that only covers acupuncture, reiki, and shamans. This is gonna go great.

RFKjr is the new top health guy? Sounds awesome. His new insurance plan will only cover acupuncture, chiropractic, and homeopathy, but it'll be cheap as hell, and they'll send you a magic rock every year for good luck. Should work great for my MS.

In a forced choice between two evils, the only moral choice is for the lesser, to prevent the greater. Sitting out such choices is the cowards' way out of the dilemma, but it doesn't dispel their accountability for the greater evil happening.

No matter how much I yell, Canadians keep pushing past my white flag and refusing to capture me as a war prisoner. Damn it. That's shockingly impolite of the Canadians.

This is my semi-regular reminder that those with the most never volunteer to take less for themselves to make things better for everyone. In systems that do not stop the rich from hoarding everything, they will, and they do. They forget that societies often correct this with not-peace.
