in one of those phases at the moment where I’d give anything to be not chronically ill

“testing if love is blind” would be a whole lot more interesting and accurate if they weren’t all conventionally attractive, non-disabled, thin and largely white

I’m just a human with severe misophonia asking companies to stop putting eating sounds in their adverts

is anyone else just measuring their life in days until #Severance or is it just me

I don’t care which superpower you’d like the most, I want to know what power would stop a random inconvenience in your life

am I just resistant to change or is a vending machine that shows you the contents on an LED screen instead of just… through the glass completely and utterly redundant

enjoyed my train conductor’s freudian slip of “please take all your personal lives with you” today

sorry I can’t actually talk about how dangerous she is because I’m too busy laughing at this sentence

has anyone made a resource about investing for neurodivergent people because what on earth

I am currently wrestling with the new knowledge that was “acceptance” of my chronic illnesses wasn’t really acceptance, it was passivity. and now I know that, I’m having to consider my anger and grief in a different light again, which is so exhausting (on top of living in the exhausting body itself)

finally facing up to the fact I probably have endo, which feels like a slight cosmic joke as someone with dysphoria triggered by my periods (and already dealing with multiple other chronic illnesses 🙃) any recs for resources/ppl to follow who talk about it in a gender neutral way?

I need y’all to understand that the Crip Walk or “C Walk” is Black DISABLED History, but even in our own community, we are erased. The crop walk was invented by Black disabled Harlem dance legend Henry “Crip” Heard, who lost an arm and a leg in a car accident. It was later adopted by the Crips.⬇️

led a session for staff at a children’s hospital on autism & trans/non-binary ppl this morning and after being extremely nervous, it was lovely. they genuinely care about the topic and our needs and are considering it within their practice. the state of play isn’t as bad as they want us to believe.

learning to drive as a dyspraxic with chronic fatigue is truly no joke

trying to explain the impact you’ve had as a lived experience expert when the co-production wasn’t actually co-production

most of the time I’m glad there’s so much more autism info out there than 9 years ago when I got diagnosed and had nowhere to go, but the media isn’t half making that joy difficult at the moment

my weekends at the moment are absolute write offs for chronic fatigue and I don’t even know why. it’s worse than when I was at uni or when I was working my time-bound part time job last year. something’s clearly up with my system or my pacing but it’s so hard to work out

The article going around about how "you can't post your way out of fascism" is, well, imo as a researcher in this field, kinda bad. Connective action is actually quite important! Awareness raising matters! The piece frames "posting" in contrast to "real organizing," and emphasizes local irl...

So anyway these are the vibes tonight after Episode 2x04 😭🤍 #Severance

allll of Severance is one of the best pieces of media I’ve ever seen but this week’s episode? yeah, I’m going to need 7-10 working days and a rewatch to even begin to process that

all I want in life is a veggie version of those cadbury yoghurts with the side of chocolate to pour into it tbh

I *do* think it’s horrible that men keep using autism to get out of horrible things they’ve done but I do also think most of them are in fact autistic. autistic people can be horrible people. autistic men can be abusive. we have to have open discussions about that.

have about 5 different book ideas atm it’s really time to get an agent

Taking away any and all community spaces is how capitalism guarantees that you cannot leave your front door - cannot relate to other human beings - without spending money. This is the goal, to 'monetise' every function of our lives

so very needed. hundreds to thousands of us have not been the same since treatment in a place that makes hundreds of thousands off young people forced into psychiatric incarceration - including many deaths.

Today is Retraction Day, when we observe the anniversary of the retraction (Feb. 2, 2010) of the fraudulent paper that purported to show a link between vaccines and autism. 🧪#medsky

something I am rapidly realising is that lots of people want autistic masking to be the root of all our difficulties, and whilst it has a major impact on lots of things, it really isn’t the end of the story.

reached the part of my grey’s rewatch where they force bailey into taking meds without any other choice of intervention and it bothers me so much. I take meds myself, I’m not against them - but the show portrays them as the only option that people *must* do even if they don’t want to
