Not even a smug snake with a crown and two staffs complete with two extra, smaller snakes. May be a smug woman without crowns or staffs, lacking even small snakes. Have dogs and opinions, which seems less cool.

*cough* David Graeber's 'Bullshit Jobs' was just this kind of crap but from the left.

Do you think this owns Trump? He’s a queeny broadway guy. He probably fucking requested it

social media needs to be regulated and treated very much like we currently treat drugs. that's long term. in the immediate term? focus on the 75% of men who aren't voting for fascists. you will have more luck reaching and organizing them than deradicalizing Andrew Tate fans.

Yeah seems pretty obvious to me that this huge gender divide in the politics of young people is being driven by men's rights / manosphere videos that act as a gateway into alt right politics.

It's hard to laugh at it but a kind of bleakly funny throughline in all this is that it's being overseen by people who 1) have never had any kind of real job, 2) don't know what these particular jobs are or might entail and haven't asked, and 3) are absolutely convinced that they are fake.

The foundational principle of contemporary American conservatism is that it is better to be unabashedly evil than to be a flawed human being trying to be good but always falling short of perfection. It is a fundamentally anti-human philosophy.

coming this holiday season

Exploited migrant farm workers in UK paid for picks, not hours. Workers not paid for in-work travel, time spent moving between workstations, team meetings, receiving instructions on equipment use. Employers violating employment rights. Need effective enforcement, not deregulation.

Very interested to know who’s producing these extremely odd lines. The same goes for much of the UK / US related briefings which seem similarly bizarre. Idiots or not, this stuff makes them all sound naive at best.

Let's be clear: the idea that breakfast clubs would adequately mitigate the impact of the two-child limit is absolute bollocks. The average household hit by the two-child limit loses out on roughly £3,800 a year. They're not currently spending that on coco pops.

I doubt that this policy [the benefit cap] even succeeds in saving money in the long run, given the effects of poverty on education, employment and earnings [and thus tax].

I hope this becomes one of those heartwarming British comedy films and annoys the Telegraph even more

Fairly sick of the sight of simpering British politicians trotting over to America to talk down our country in front of a bunch of braying MAGA fascists If you don't like this Britain, why not go and live in your beloved Trump’s America. (AM I doing this right)

Don’t like current events

Oh, come on. The Conservative Party helped destroyed those places by austerity and Brexit, which together hollowed out local government, abolished RDAs and lost the country Structural Funds. But, sure, let’s pretend it’s all about immigration

It's very odd. You can argue that disruption is required to give people what they want (like a functioning NHS). But disruption itself isn't a goal that's going to enthuse anyone.

What’s funny is over the last few months, Ukraine has been able to close the firepower and manpower advantage (changing tactics and inflicting 130,000 casualties in 2.5 months will do that)

This is fascinating (and pretty intuitive), BUT... I'd like to see this same chart for members of the other MiC segments. Do Backbone Conservatives and Loyal Natonalists also overestimate how progressive the country is? Or do they exhibit the same tendency in the opposite direction?

We need to re-emphasise the idea that politicians going abroad to slag off this country to foreigners in return for money or prestige is a shameful thing to do. Because even though I would guess 75% of normal people instinctively understand this, certain others do not.

Genuinely think this hurt trans rights issues. A lot of people are open to the idea but have never knowingly met a trans person, or are confused by the idea, and have genuine concerns. By turning it into a purity test instead of an educational tone it gives ground to the right wing fear mongering.
