a person with zero experience in drug policy is now "drug czar".... historically, the job has mainly been propaganda

Cool. Seems great. “It has become clear that truth and transparency are not desired by the Secretary, but rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies.” www.statnews.com/2025/03/28/f...

Apparently, the administration just revoked any grants that have to do with media literacy or disinformation. After all, how can you control what a population thinks when people study and report on how the public may be fooled? The email highlights vaccination & #COVID as subjects of disinfo study.

After blowing the whistle on a psychedelic clergy study over 18 months ago, I recently received this letter from Johns Hopkins' Office of Human Subjects Research finding multiple counts of "serious non-compliance" with federal human subject protections. www.psychedeliccandor.org/p/breaking-j...

My partner Lucia was quoted in The Washington Post regarding one of her clients who was disappeared despite having no criminal history and being granted humanitarian protection. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

I mean, what defense agency hasn’t accidentally included an editor in its war thread. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Our growing “Fool” wall

From the ruling: “…while the state’s experts disagree with the prevailing medical consensus [that trans healthcare for minors is acceptable and necessary]…the state did not present…any contrary evidence-based standards [to prevailing medical consensus] accepted by any…professional medical groups.”

Favorite quote on writing, from Joe Abercrombie — author of “The First Law” series #grimdark @joeabercrombie.com

“On Drugs” podcast recently produced an incredibly accessible episode on trans healthcare, featuring Samantha Rosenthal. I felt inspired to do a portrait of her. www.cbc.ca/listen/cbc-p...

Just a good dog watching her stories on a rainy morning

Who has Elon hired to help him slash social security costs? The probable new owner of Lykos, Antonio Gracias! #netzerotrauma www.nytimes.com/2025/03/14/u...

The radical leftist stock market is the enemy within.

The most #Tesla parking job I’ve ever seen.

kinda fucked up that the women who Cuomo sexually harassed are the ones teaching NYers how to not vote for him. Hardly feels like their responsibility

It’s warming up and Tilly is happy

@msmacb.bsky.social on NYT's cringey smear of @psymposia.bsky.social: “When vague accusations of ‘DEI’ and ‘wokeness’ are already being used to gut government programs, it might not be a bad time to blame the FDA’s decision on ‘a small band of anticapitalist activists.’” slate.com/technology/2...

I wrote about the NYT story that claimed “a small band of anticapitalist activists helped sink the first psychedelic compound to come before the F.D.A.” Let’s just say it was missing some important context…and it’s interesting to consider why that might be slate.com/technology/2...

1. On Feb 4, NYT published an article targeting Psymposia, full of inaccuracies & false accusations. Worse, the journalists breached editorial policy by ignoring a number of fact checks & refusing to give us opportunity to respond to allegations raised against us. www.psymposia.com/magazine/cor...

Last month, @nytimes.com ran an outrageous hit piece by Andrew Jacobs and Rachel Nuwer targeting @psymposia.bsky.social that was wormy with falsehoods and baseless accusations. Read our full response and corrections to their nonsense reporting here: www.psymposia.com/magazine/cor...

A recent published case study presents a cautionary tale of what can happen at psychedelic training retreats for professionals. Psychedelics are powerful medicines that can be profoundly harmful at times as well as profoundly helpful. #psychedelicscience doi.org/10.1186/s128...

Major psychedelic donor and Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative director, Genevieve Jurvetson, states that she is " fairly bullish on the new [Trump] administration and their passion for addressing root causes as it relates to mental health or health in general."

What does an "interlocking directorate" look like in psychedelic medicine? Graham Boyd: "To the question of PSFC's role [in state psychedelic initiatives], we're a 501c3. That means that we as PSFC do not do political work. But there's a related organization called New Approach..." (1/3)

New post on my mailing list, riffing on a meme: "Everyone I Don't Like is Psymposia"—The Emotional Child's Guide to FDA Approval of MDMA-AT, now in The New York Times; plus, Psychedelics Today promotes "safe words" for restraint, and a new report shows how therapists are indoctrinated. Link in bio.

First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year. “'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'" Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/u...

Of course the NYT sees the "DEI" stuff positively & is neutral on anti-trans discrimination

RFK Jr. moves to scrap public notice and comment periods across HHS. That would be departure from a system in place since 1971. Seems entirely at odds with proclaimed goal of making healthcare more transparent. Will officially publish Monday: public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2025-03300.pdf

Unsatisfactory headlines in WaPo, NYT, AP, WSJ. Completely missing the point, which is Trump siding with Putin over Zelensky

Wanna print this bumper sticker lol
