What a mood

California National Guard troops have arrived at the federal detention center in downtown Los Angeles. This is pure theater. It will never stop Angelenos from protesting ICE kidnappings occurring throughout the vast, 4,000-square mile area of Greater Los Angeles.

Showcasing point and click sequences and some choices such as shooting the gaucho. English version coming soon! #VisualNovel #Renpy #NarrativeDesign

Substack proudly funds the nazi voices on their platform. Please stop publishing on substack if you have any modicum of concern about the information ecosystem and the economics of hate. I know many people who absolutely do know better who continue to publish there and it is second-hand embarrassing

Sinners is actually a horror musical

Perhaps Newsom should have spent less time chumming around with authoritarian buffoons on his podcast and more time preparing and strategizing for the entirely predicable thing that is happening in his state right now.

The spin has already started as if our entire city is in chaos. I went from Burbank all the way over to Koreatown on surface streets tonight and jackshit was happening. The CNN coverage makes it look like world war 3 and that’s what Trump wants so he and his fucking goons can come shoot Angelenos.

Anecdotal, but I'm definitely noticing an uptick in advocacy for violence here. About which I'll say only this: Promoting violence on social media is the work of trolls and fools, those eager to bait others into implicating themselves in the age of surveillance or fools rushing to the gulag.

Cannot stress enough that this is a pitiful action by a weak, scared, pathetic group of insecure, wannabe authoritarians, and they should be mocked until the end of time for wanting to bring in the military over some people protesting them at a Home Depot.

No one is fucking rioting you dipshit

Canadian here. In addition to news like @cbcnews.ca and @aptnnews.bsky.social, I’ve started watching news from @en.france24.com , an English news channel from France. BBC, Germany, Australia, Al-Jazeera… Recommend Americans start diversifying their news sources to non-US sources asap.

Remember this iconic photo from Ferguson? This is Edward Crawford, throwing back a tear gas canister to protect some nearby kids. Like many identified Ferguson protesters and organizers, he was "found dead" a couple years later and neither the cops nor the media will ever investigate.

My Canadian university, Queen's, is offering TWENTY 4-year funded PhDs (40k CAD/yr) for a student of ANY citizenship who has been accepted at a top 100 US university but have had offer rescinded OR are reconsidering offer due to US policy. Details found here👇 www.queensu.ca/grad-postdoc...

Buy your gear at home depot!

For anyone showing up to the protests around LA this weekend, please bring supplies. Paper towels, milk, water, snacks, and any extra masks. Wear protective gear like helmets, goggles, full face protection, and heat resistant gloves. The tear gas canisters are hot and will burn

The fascists are playing the opposition and the media aiding them. Masked ICE agents, LAPD in riot gear, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshals Service all beating down, bashing, and gassing people in Los Angeles. These aren't deportation raids. It's the outright flex of fascist power on US citizens.

My whole feed should be the protests in Los Angeles. It is not. Let’s get the word out. People are putting their bodies on the line to fight fascism.

Hell of a photo

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

The correct response to state violence is more protest, more people. Make it clear that a free people cannot and will not be oppressed.

Good morning. It's Saturday and I'm writing news. "It's not hard to imagine ways in which repeating the myth of Clair Obscur's team size could contribute to worse conditions for games and the people developing them." www.pcgamer.com/gaming-indus...

this encourages unhealthy expectations that (1) guy with low budget would be able to make $$$$$ game

These execs are using boy math to lie about actual team size to force impossible budgets and limited resources on devs while demanding AAA quality games from “a team of 1 person” They are selling you a Louis Vuitton shoe on a Payless budget. Essentially turning us into devalued sweatshop operators.

Fuck.. when did the #Solodev discourse go from damaged folks retreating into their own artistic bubble to "look what we can do with no people!,start firing everyone" vibes. I am not gonna shoulder this, fuck all that. it's gross.

It’s incredibly noticeable how often ‘and an army of outsourcers outside America and Western Europe’ is left out of these team sizes. That’s the part I find real uncomfortable.

Gumroad guy is the engineer.

This year's Summer Games Fest presentation was really concerned with how few people made a lot of those games, huh? It feels kinda fucked up. Not just because they're often misrepresntating the real size of these teams, but because I think it's playing directly into a new(ish) flavour of dev hate.
