You've identified what's wrong with him, though: Stephen Miller is a total monster. He's a cruel, mendacious, racist, sexist monster.

Love that you did this!

When I was a kid, I'd never heard of the Tulsa Massacre, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist. Embracing stupidity is really stupid.

Holy shit. That's bleak.

Just a quick compliment on the title: For folks that are puritanical about "cuss words," this title loses SO MUCH power with "...fucking up." The meaning gets diluted by changing it to, say "mistakes" or "poor [leadership/management]." Bravo, sir!

@ninaturner.bsky.social Check this out, senator.

Try this: "The U.S. very similar to Germany right now. The hatefulness of AfD doesn't represent the majority of the German people, but it's significant. That's MAGA, as well. In both cases, there's a risk of authoritarianism. Remember how Hitler consolidated power after being appointed Chancellor."

I mean.... Fuck Goldman Sachs. But also... nice work, here. And also, fuck those assholes.

Wait. Does this say he has over $1 trillion in assets?

When you hire a consultant as the CEO, of course the workers get screwed! Is it a coincidence that "efficiency" and "big asshole" have the same number of letters?

This would be such a fun night out! But, alas, I'm in Chicago....

Charter schools are two things: 1. An attack on teachers' unions; and 2. A real estate investment scheme.
comment in response to post
This isn't, for those unfamiliar with the machinations of charter operators, hyperbole. Look at the New Orleans schools, who took over nearly every building following Hurricane Katrina. Look at Chicago's charters. Look at Cleveland's charters. Look at Philadelphia's charters. This IS the plan.

Those are fancy! (Even the case is fancy!) Congrats!

Who is that woman, actually?

Are we? The Voting Rights Act broke down barriers, but the parties (both Dems & Republicans) replaced them. The Supreme Court has attacked democracy (Citizen's United and ruling sections 4 & 5 of the Voting Rights Act unconstitutional). "Competitive authoritarianism" is a fair description.

Remarkable. PhD Candidate in the "Graduate School of Statesmanship" at Hillsdale College. (This should not be confused with the Hilldale neighborhood of Hill Valley from Back to the Future, incidentally.) gradschool.hillsdale.edu/Profiles/Jos... Just stunning....

I'm glad I don't know who "Jess Gill" is. This is more than enough information for me to know she's not a good person and I don't need her "thoughts" in my life.

Oh...I notice it. In fact, I could have written something similar to the post you shared (I would have framed it differently, but with undeniable similarities), but you could have meant any number of things by that, so I asked for clarification.

It wasn't a vague, generalized call. It was very specifically a call for Israel to stop the killing in Gaza. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

Democrat consultants' put their own profit above everything, and "leadership" (by folks that are deferential to the consultants) is nearly nonexistent.

I'm curious what you mean by this. Is there a particular strife you're talking or thinking about?

The Supreme Court granted certiorari??? What. The. Fuck.

It's the difference between morality and ethics. There is no universal morality, but there are minimum baseline ethical decisions, so the WHO says the things that no one can reasonably argue with.
comment in response to post
One would think. But Trump just pulled the US out of the WHO. If they say "...added hormones or antibiotics..." or "...humane living conditions..." the corporate farmers say, "Are you trying to starve people by making hamburgers $2,000??" And Trump says, "They're trying to interrupt trade!"
comment in response to post
Don't forget: the WHO is in a tough spot, so they are limiting their participation in controversies. In the best of times, if they comment on corporate farming practices, it's economists, trade analysts, and financiers that respond; not the medical researchers. And these aren't the best of times.

His larger point isn't irrelevant. But. His point is based on the premise that "leaders" lacking courage is okay.

What percentage of assaults against the Gestapo would be acceptable in hindsight? (Also, "300%" might be three assaults....)
