but the kids could always find them and I think that is what matters. She rearranged the shelving often (and I do mean the shelving, not just the books...lol).

Interesting. I worked in a public school and the juvenile books were arranged alphabetically by author which I think is the norm. It was the same in the public library, but our children's librarian often put out baskets and bins as your teacher friends have. It was hard for us to find things but

*When I say the French were here first, I mean as settlers (and long before the British). Of course, the Indigenous Peoples were here, and various explorers and even Vikings had come to Canada but the French came to make a new life.

I'm no expert, but I hope I've pointed you towards good resources. I hope you are well soon. You're welcome.

This is why kids (and adults) love to be in the Public Library at night when it is closed. Go with your imagination!

Other crises over time have forced our federal government to address Quebec's unique relationship with Canada such as the passing of the "notwithstanding clause," allowing any province to override certain federal laws. www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/n...

When Pierre Trudeau was PM, we had the October Crisis because the FLQ (Front de libération du Québec), a militant group tried to force the separation of Quebec from Canada. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Front_d...

I think traitors is a very strong word. Rights for French-speaking people are embedded in our official documents. I think most Canadians will try to get along unless a specific issue comes up that opens old wounds.

The Acadians were established on the east coast and while their history is interwoven with that of Quebec and even Louisianna, they are distinctly Acadian. The British forced them from their homes but many returned in time. www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...

When I say away, I mean other cultural groups who have come to Canada and brought their culture with them. I think you are looking for a history of New France. The French were here first and established fishing colonies and trading routes. I found this list: www.readingrhapsody.com/best-books-o...

The lack of understanding of Quebecois culture in a Canadian context is only one reason another country could never rule us. It is a fine balance already. That doesn't even take into account the many, many pockets of people from "away" who bring their culture to Canada. We are not a melting pot.

We should be a row or two behind you. :D Remember when I chatted on Little Wing and said we sat behind you at the Pirates' game and you said that 1200 sat behind you? I don't see the kids but they were often in the beer garden where I sometimes got asked for ID...lol.

Have you tried Knit Companion? I think you can change the font size if that is the problem. I love the guides for charts.

I was just discussing that today. Maybe Trump did us a favour.

I think there could come a time when I would have to make that decision and whether I would protect myself and take a life is a hard moral question for me. Defending others might not be so hard. I don't know.

If you are advocating violence, I'm not in agreement. Answering violence with violence is not helpful and I have strong moral opinions about it. Marching in the street is more my style and I think it is way more effective in the long run in making change happen.

I keep asking where the protests are. To be fair, they are being hit with shockwave after shockwave of changes -- many of which are illegal. There is a resistance but I'm not sure how much time people have had to organize.

I think Trump may have saved us from that fate. I guess we'll see.

Sorry? K. Not sorry. Let's hope we all get beyond this place.

A friend downloaded something on how to hack into computers and also a manual on how to bring down your company (which he will not be doing). He said the company was pretty much following the manual already.
