I'm 72, been living on SS for about a decade now. In all that time I would check my bank account balance monthly. Now I check at least once a week, more than a little concerned it might vanish or be chipped away at by ketamine-fueled DOGEstapo. Folks in the U.S. should not have to live this way.

My commissioned work was the majority of my personal/folio artwork, in addition to a smattering of self-commissioned stuff that I did when paying work got thin. It was all a matter of keeping busy and continually building skills that help make the next paying job less of a technical challenge.
