This is how it's done. You interview everyone so you can prempt any challenges as to who was selected. Then you read the results and toss out the ones you dont like. Then you publish the results you wanted.

I've been in both and if NYC were to become like Chicago it would be a significant improvement.

Yup, remembered that from my physics. Fortran...lucky you... Did you see where the D- kids were going to rewrite SocSec code... it's in COBOL...and all the old COBAL writers were laughing. The D- kids just quit the effort. Lots of spaghetti code because computers on vacuum tubes very costly to run

I got all three series on DVD. In the Danger Man series you' ll see early acting roles of some later famous British actors like Robert Shaw and Patrick Troughtham (sp?) who played the second Dr Who.

Originally it was British "Danger Man". Then it became American "Secret Agent Man" Then he was imprisoned on an island and it became "The Prisoner". Patrick McGoohan Turned down the role of James Bond and recommended Sean Connery. Refused to take over the role of Columbia from his friend Peter Falk

I've used Open. for over 20 years. Never liked that subscription vampire thing. As to old, ever see "Colossus", 1970 movie. That was the first computer I used: typewriter and printer.

They always reminded of those mean bubble things that controlled people in "The Prisoner".

The old trick: gum up the works, blame government workers, then extole how privatization will make it better. The old " gubbermint should run like a business." Next time a drooling moron says that, remind them that higher taxes means more profit.

Is that what was once Openoffice?

Last time I checked the balance was well over $2 trillion. It was accruing over $200 billion every year until they screwed with the contribution rates. Hedge fund gets 15% of the initial investment as a fee and 5% of the profits. Thats hundreds of billions in fees then tens of billions.

Power makes stupid.

The most profitable Federal entity is Social Security. That's why they want to privatize it.

And they swore each time the minimum wage rose, there would be an exodus of businesses.

Same here with Rod Serling. You are still blessed. BeOS was streaming 8 videos simultaneously when Microsft was using MSDOS 3.0. It couldn't crash, we tried.

He's got something over 80 in American Samoa alone due to measles.

I firmly believe that many MAGAt beliefs about NYC and LA are based upon the "Deathwish" series of movies.

😯😵‍💫 I am unworthy. He was a hero. I still remember a pic of him with his dog. The other hero was that Linus guy that developed Linux.

DANG!! That even got me excited!

I muted him. I guess he and WaPo dont believe in the Ice Ages.

The guy who developed it was French and worked with Apple. He disagreed with their views and struck out on his own and developed it.

My wife rememdered it as a powder. What's funny is the poster made a pun and maybe didn't realize it happened.

Possibly. It's in the cellar with my Mandrake, FreeBSD, QNX, and other relics. And Ubuntu...my memories not as good as it was.

Well, it's a heck of a lot better than what people told me about what to shove in my rectum.

Back in the 60's they had an aerosol spray that was used to clean your hair without washing. It was sold in cans in stores.

Thanks. I thought it was what happened when you drank too much and did the luge.

I could handle (I forgot which one, what ever was larger) one Petabyte/ettabyte of files. I also had BeOS GO which was the equivalent of Office. It was virtually crashproof. With either Linux or BeOS we could take a bare computer, install the OS and be online with people in 15 minutes. We timed it.
comment in response to post
I have a copy. We did a test: we took 3 computers and put BeOS on one, Mandrake Linux on another, and Windows 98 on the third. Gave the three to unsophisticated users and they all liked BeOS the best. BeOS was very advanced and could run 8 streaming videos at one time back in '88 .

They say stuff so illogical and stupid that it's difficult for a sane, educated, reasonable person to come with a counter- argument. It's similar to two pre- adolescents arguing which comic strip character is better. I find it's more interesting to ask them to explain, then tear them apart.

Around here we have many gen-Xers ( age 45 to 60) wearing red hats. Many are women.
comment in response to post
Correct. The problem here is a case of organized vigilantism. No court, no judge, no defense lawyers, no due process. Just an armed group grabbing people.
comment in response to post
Yes it does. The Constitution prohibits States from having armies or navies except as authorized by Congress. The US militia is controlled by Congress.
