everyone always says "death to america" but then when someone steps up and does it you get mad at him

I for one am amazed that allowing the world's stupidest man to bellow like an idiot while swinging a sledgehammer into every surface encountered has not fixed all of our problems but has instead made all problems worse and caused new ones. It makes no sense; he had the longest tie, the goldest hair.

Western Leaders Need Something Other Than Incontrovertible Evidence Before Rushing To Condemn IDF's Execution Of Paramedics

The only way to stop people being forced into the hands of people smugglers is to introduce safe routes for people to seek safety in the UK. Starmer knows this - but instead of making this lifesaving change, he's choosing to dance to Nigel Farage's tune. Shameful. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

'Labour is committed to championing the rights of disabled people and to the principle of working with them, so that their views and voices will be at the heart of all we do' - Labour manifesto, 2024

We have a very serious problem with centrists simply giving up on reality. This isn't new, it's a feature not a bug, but Brexit & Corbyn has blown some important cerebral circuitry & the retreat into comforting wish fulfilment that redefines the world in imagined not actual terms is...worrying

Q. What is the point of a Labour government that leaves everyone poorer, but especially the poorest? A. Nothing. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

BBC News. "crackdown on benefits" Pathetic.

Imagine being one of the people who tried to put forward Labour as a lesser evil last year

"If you are reliant on PIP, it is truly terrifying to witness, but it should terrify all of us, because a government that can front out this kind of denial is one that is not listening, not curious, not realistic and not humane." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

We’ve officially entered the Twilight Zone: Sir Bean—a former Bank of England bigwig and monetary policy grandee—is now the one defending the public from cuts… being mooted by a Labour chancellor. Next up, Jacob Rees-Mogg leads a general strike.

This post is apparently intended to *rebut* allegations of corruption.

If you cut foreign aid, you are hurting the vulnerable. If you cut or freeze PIP & other disability benefits, you are hurting the vulnerable. The recipients can’t push back, & have little power to resist. If you increase wealth taxes, you’re not going to hurt anyone. But the rich, push back

"And can you imagine Canada stooping so low as to use ELECTRICITY, that so affects the life of innocent people, as a bargaining chip and threat?"

Like the Laffer Curve, the idea that adding VAT to private school fees would price out the people who want to pay to make sure their kids don’t get educated with povvos turns out to be bullshit. In a sensible world this news would lead to absolutely rinsing the top 0.1% of earners for 75% income tax

Exciting to watch Elon Musk pivot so elegantly from making his cars toxic to the demographic most likely to consider one, to making his Starlink a national security risk for all the governments who might have wanted it.

advocating for excluding disabled children from society, ostensibly to make the potholes fixed on time. you know what you are

Watching the liberals freak out when their chrysalis cracks open and the fascists rejoice when the butterfly emerges

For young Europeans, the Trump situation can feel hopeless. The feeling of impotence on this continent is strong. But they can correct the mistakes of their parents by embracing European sovereignty. It's not too late. My thoughts on what is needed:

#NATO's Article 5 was only invoked once, by 🇺🇸 asking for defence after 9/11 As a result, 1,105 European and Canadian soldiers died in the 20-year Afghanistan war - 1/3 of all coalition casualties I don't recall the Europeans demanding America surrender its mineral wealth in exchange for their help

This is a concentration camp. They are describing a concentration camp.

I would simply look at what this Labour government is actually doing (brutalising migrants, handing out freebies to international corporations, falling in love with every Lyle Lanley AI huckster, ripping up regulations, destroying the environment etc etc) and assume that this is what he wants.

I wonder if he'll win his zero sum game.

Really shocking allegations about the Foreign Office's manipulation of processes to allow the UK to continue selling arms to regimes committing atrocities. It's clear govt has been complicit in war crimes and has questions to answer here. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Pretty much nails it The Aussie nuclear power plan from the Liberal Party is about keeping fossil fuels burning for longer www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBqV...

Three by-election gains for Reform last night, two from the Tories and one from Labour. Can see the rightward turn of both parties is reaping them dividends.
