For fantasy temples, I prefer the open-space model most common on Earth, including in pre-14th-century Christian churches. Most worship, even in earlier churches, was active, requiring a devotee to do more than sit and listen to a cleric. Many temples were also public meeting spaces. Oust the pews.

I don’t understand glorifying suffering. Doing so seems sick. That anyone suffered and survived is no evidence that suffering is character- or strength-building, or any other alleged good. This myth is pernicious. Society should aim to minimize suffering, not to exalt it and pass it on.

I'm cancelling a trip from the EU to the States with my daughters, who are dual Dutch and USA citizens. I'm sad, because I wanted them to see the place they were born in and their family, but I'm not going to risk it for more than one reason, paramount being their safety.

I must say I like a lot of the changes in 2024 D&D--a lot of them make the game more fun and easier to play. I say that mostly from a DM's perspective, watching players enjoy themselves, although my Theros minotaur rogue is fun, too.
