There it is. Literally saying the US and Russia are working together to take away the independence of another country. I'm wondering if any of our press is gonna pick this one up? Seems like headline material?

The summit in London has begun. European and NATO leaders have gathered to discuss the future of humanity and Ukraine, without the United States. This is the largest reconfiguration of nations since World War 2.

Planning a visit to the USA? Here's a tip, make other plans.

Trilobite encounter. Ceraurus species in sterling silver on the left, bronze on the right. One of my earliest experiments that worked; both have a liver-of-sulfur patina, but as you can see, if you time it just right, silver will pick up an incredible blue. #sciart

every day I spend time thinking about how stupid and unnecessary all of this is and I hate it

After yesterday's events in the White House, Haltbakk Bunkers, one of Norway's largest marine fuel companies, appears to have announced that it will no longer refuel American Navy vessels. "not a liter will be delivered until Trump is finished" threadreaderapp.com/thread/18958...

there is really going to be no option but to prosecute these people the second they are out of power if we ever want a chance to fix this country

📌NOTE: Immediately after the vile attack on Zelensky by Putin's puppets Friday, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries should have called a joint press conference and explained to the American public the significance, heinousness and danger of that sickening surrender. 📌They should STILL be talking now.

That was surely the longest February on record

Oh, they're waking up!

If you aren't angry, you aren't paying attention.

Echinoderms are so strange. The center specimen is a stunning cystoid, Cheirocystis sp. There are also two carpoids, Quebecarpus sp. All are pyritized or replaced with fool's gold. This is from the Upper Ordovician Neuville Fm. in Quebec. #FossilFriday

It takes much longer than 30 minutes to tour my fossil collection.

This is a small crinoid with a hitchhiker. Cyathicrinites with a brittlestar, Calyptactis confragosus, wrapped around the anal tube to steal food. #FossilFriday

#FossilFriday This is a rare beast.

he's really so stupid and I can't stand it. if you warmed up mars and melted the water, the water would evaporate into space. Mars can't have a habitable atmosphere in its current state bc it has no magnetic field. solar winds strip away everything that isn't stuck to the surface.

Whaaaat evolutionary advantage could having arms like this have given a crinoid?! A truly magnificent weirdo is the Clathrocrinus clathratus. Hails from the Bond Formation, Pontiac, Illinois. Pennsylvanian aged. FOV roughly 6cm. #FossilFriday

The Pope believes aliens are Buddhist, says Trump Zendaya covets the amulet of Myshar, says Trump Falcons dream about Chevrolets, says Trump

And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made

Good lord, that last sentence of Viser’s is so deeply contemptible and illustrative of how American journalists have lost their way entirely.

In celebration of my monograph being accepted for publication, here's some images of everyone's favourite New York state fossil, Eurypterus, for #FossilFriday! Even among these standard compression fossils, the detail on the cuticle is exceptional. ⚒️🧪

For #FossilFriday, "resting" trace a small sea star/"starfish" the Late Ordovician Sequatchie Formation (~445 mya) of northwest Georgia (USA), preserved as a natural cast & accompanied by thin & tiny invertebrate burrows. #ichnology 🪨⚒️🧪

Tate is like Trump in this sense: the most grotesque thing is not that he exists, but that he’s hugely popular, and what that says about us as a species.

I'm just going to leave this here: More people have measles than than there were trans athletes competing in the NCAA. Like, a lot more.

When you think about what the State Department is doing to the passports of trans and non-binary folks, I want you to also think about this.

Scientists: We may have finally found a cure for one of the cruelest human diseases! The United States:

Do you want water that’s safe for your family to drink, air that’s safe for your family to breathe, or a livable climate? We’re apparently cutting 2/3 of our capacity, so pick one of those three. 🤷 www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/c...

I told you federal jobs are a shorthand for minority employment for the Right.

More old work for #TrilobiteTuesday - specimen of Phacops 🐡

For #TrilobiteTuesday here's an exquisitely prepared Damesella paronai -- #Cambrian (~500 MYA) of N. China -- along with a fantastic 3D print reconstruction showing hypothetical ventral limbs, both acquired by @romtoronto.bsky.social from www.trilobiti.com #SciArt #trilobites
