Cold weather didn’t dampen spirits for the Road Apple Roubaix. Great to get out with like minded friends.

Conditions are suboptimal for the first organized bike ride of the season. I’ll be in good company, though.

Telling it like it is.

Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine.

Getting ready for the 11th edition of this ride with swag from the 8th.

Why is all the commentary about the Zilenski meeting with Trump and Vance all about what Zilenski should’ve done? How about what Trump and Vance should’ve done? They acted like schoolyard bullies.

I photographed Cleveland, Ohio tonight in the rain and this is what I got

One of my favorite bike shops burned to the ground early this morning. 😩

A neighbor I met while towing his granddaughter‘s jeep out of a ditch gave me a “Very Berry” pie as a thank you. It was a very nice gesture and a yummy pie!

I finally got around to organizing a bunch of old bike parts I had squirreled away in miscellaneous boxes. Of course, I found several that I recently purchased for a project bike because I didn’t think I had them. 🙄

Having served as a Moscow correspondent in the early days of Putin's reign, this reminds me of how the Kremlin took over its own press pool and made sure that only compliant journalists were given access.

Bailey made a cameo in the Amazon delivery photo.

ICONIC: Yosemite National Park workers just hung an upside-down American flag—THOUSANDS of feet up on El Capitan. That’s not decoration. That’s a distress signal. They’re telling us the country is in danger. Are you paying attention? www.sfchronicle.com/outdoors/art...

The Tower of Power. Great time at Fahrenheit in CLE.

The doggos and I shared an ethereal moment yesterday on a XC ski excursion.

Van Hollen: "Can you imagine FDR in the middle of WW2 saying to Churchill, 'you know, we're not going to continue to help you until you turn over half of your coal and mineral reserves.' That's not how you behave when you want to support a friend who's under attack by an authoritarian like Putin."

The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]

We have a sweeping left, downhill turn coming into our development that banks to the outside. It eats cars for lunch on snowy days. So far, my family has counted three cars in that ditch this winter. I was able to yank the last one out with a tow strap this morning. She was very grateful.

A beautiful, but blustery day for a hike.

Germany gives the U.S. a much-needed lesson in democracy.

A profile in courage. “I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

Mitch McConnell voting no on terrible cabinet picks because he doesn’t have to run for reelection is all the proof you need that we must have term limits. You shouldn’t only have a spine because you don’t have to run again. We are breeding chicken shit power hungry electeds.
