MISSING IN ACTION

Sharing more townhall videos today because they’re giving me hope. THIS is good trouble! Who is this man? I want to shake his hand and buy him a drink.

Quite the gall to stand there and compare people sitting down at a town hall meeting to January 6th insurrectionists, too.

This is so many words to say Trump fired the chairman of the joint chiefs because he’s black www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

nooo

Remarkable stuff in the texts between Musk and St. Clair in the exhibits to her paternity position. He’s really into making babies!

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Seems bad

Maine Governor Janet Mills has won this week’s Danielle Sassoon Profile in Courage Award.

I was at CPAC yesterday, I have been there before, and one thing that I can report is that the number of people was DRASTICALLY lower...the first time I attended, the entire hotel (and it is massive) was packed...this time, maybe 1/10th the crowd Not sure what that means? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also if you feel strongly about Eric Adams, you should call your city councilmember to express that and ask for their position. You’d be surprised. Hochul’s stance is highly disappointing but it doesn’t come from nowhere. Press all your electeds. City elections are in 5 months. Ask candidates too.

This. Is. Insane.

“I beat George Washington. I love beating George Washington.” Trump tells the CPAC crowd that he agrees with Bill O’Reilly’s claim that he’s the “greatest president ever.” 🤡

Russian MP and deputy head of the Defense Committee of the Duma, Alexey Zhuravlev says what Russia is really after in any "peace deal": "We need Ukraine to be either pro-Russian or nonexistent."

Really interesting that this (more sparsely attended) event focused on Trump's sell-out to Russia. I expect fury abt the DOGE cuts. But this is a bit of a surprise.

Not trying to alarm people but just noting that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, among their other important functions, is also one of the small number of people explicitly designated for translating Presidential nuclear strike orders into reality. www.doctrine.af.mil/Portals/61/d...

not a clue what this means.

WaPo Page One: “If you’re going to just yell at me, that’s not going to be an effective town hall,” McCormick said .. “But we’re pissed!” a woman shouted. #GA07 www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

UPDATE: Meta is continuing to censor anti-Musk ads. It has removed a Facebook ad calling for a boycott of Tesla, saying that it violates the company's policy on "unacceptable business practices" muskwatch.com/subscribe

Amen to that.

"Ukraine started the war," lies Andrei Kelin, Russian ambassador in the UK and laughs. When Victoria Derbyshire says it's a lie and asks why he's laughing, Kelin says - you listen but do not hear. Russians want history textbooks to be written by Russian propagandists. #StayWithUkraine

Usually when states go to court alleging federal coercion in violation of the 10th Amendment there is not a literal video of the President doing it.

Every time I see a headline like this, I check to see whether it was Maggie or Swan bylined.

Joni Ernst cast one of two pivotal votes to let this happen.

I escaped poverty because I am a scientist. And I am a scientist because of the National Science Foundation. A 🧵:

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

Sigh.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

Surely this can't go wrong. Https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/02/21/pentagon-job-cuts-trump-hegseth/

The day is coming where we will have a choice. Will we let them just sieg heil across the US or will we make them fear again? Make them pay true consequence for this? There should be no safe space for a Nazi salute.

Raskin: "So who is leading DOGE? Is it the young man who calls himself Big Balls? Is it the racist on the night crew who's proud of the fact he was a racist before all of his friends were racist, and says we should legitimize Indian hate?"
