They could only have done it with our help. We must make better choices and stop paying criminal corporations to trash the planet.

Public health care is great but not when it takes 2 years to get an MRI or see a specialist, who is likely incompetent. People die waiting in the emergency rooms because there are no doctors, but a dozen nurses sitting and eating and making fun of those waiting hours or days to be seen by a doctor.

I see things a bit differently. Peak combined income tax rate in some provinces is 54%, sales tax is up to 15% and is on most everything. Not much qualifies for capital gains tax rate. Very little is tax deductible and the average family pays more than 40% in taxes.

And yet, they will likely never find honesty or real leadership in any politician. It is time for direct democracy and an end to politics and politicians. They are obsolete in the modern era of instant secure communications. Give the vote to the people.

Perhaps more people will now use public transport or ride a bike. Trumpco may be unintentionally reducing fossil fuel use.

The French in 1942 were betrayed by many of their own who sided with the Nazis. The same happened in much of western Europe. Elements in the U.S. and UK also supported fascists, and still do. There will likely always be a portion of humanity that embraces evil and oppression.

While both PBS and NPR have done a good job of giving voice to the otherwise voiceless, it is also true that they have promoted a destructive agenda, at times. They continue to serve up excessively liberal content for social engineering that doesn't resonate with most Americans.

Yes, there is an abundance of data showing that the weather has changed but the most extreme changes have been in the past 40 years or so, and it is accelerating rapidly.

Forests did just fine for eons without any human intervention. Dead trees need to stay in the forest to feed the eco-system.

His Executive Order to violate the Endangered Species Act to increase logging is illegal and will be challenged in court. However, Congress may try to repeal the Act and enable the mass extinction of life in the U.S. Keep in mind that Biden greatly increased deforestation as well.

Our civilization is collapsing on every level, including politically and socially. Human intelligence and morality are also collapsing. We can allow ourselves to be pulled down in the collapse or we can step away and build a new culture and civilization.

Why would someone in Hawai'i hold a grudge against you for reposting something about crows from NPR?

Scotland would no doubt be better off without England.

Good news! Florida no longer produces much orange juice. Production has plummeted the last couple of years due to climate change and disease.

Canada dumped pennies some time ago and its seems to be working OK but makes book-keeping more difficult.

While it is likely that some U.S. climate research will be defunded, and some of it may just be labeled as weather research. Other countries need to step up to fill the gaps.

Up to 1880 there were of course far more fires because there was no way to put them out and few people around to put them out. A more meaningful comparison would be the prevalence of fires from say 1950 till now and compare that to droughts. Right?

We should be curious and want to know more before passing judgment.

Probably too many micro-plastics in my brain.

Answering that question would require vastly more space than allowed by this platform.

Yes, but it has been exposing a lot of corruption, looting and waste of taxpayer's money.

Outdoor agriculture is becoming increasingly risky due to extreme weather. Whether we like it or not far more food will have to be grown indoors, preferably in plastic-free facilities using natural light. One old tech making a comeback is solar fiber-optic lighting systems, like this one.
