Oh, and this year I especially want to emphasize that the only foreign country Lincoln ever visited was Canada and he was so taken with it, he wrote a rapturous unpublished essay:

Probably also worth noting that Lincoln regarded upholding and protecting the Constitution as his chief presidential duty. He didn't always live up to that standard but he endeavored to and understood the acute danger of a president who did otherwise.
