As your constituent, thank you for voting no on cloture, and for all your work on the clean CR. Thank you for not caving in.

Ah yeah yarrow can go crazy in the right conditions. I’ve grown lavender from seed several times and they don’t seem to spread once planted (in my climate, anyway) and the pollinators love them. Plus they stay green all winter and require very little care and watering.

I’ve read that you want to avoid combining raspberries and strawberries because they’re subject to the same soil-based diseases. I do combine strawberries and blueberries and that has worked well so far

Maybe some lavender and/or yarrow to attract pollinators and beneficial insects? A bit late in the season now but I like planting garlic with raspberries, and then I do cover crops (usually a mix of clovers) in the summer/fall

I’d be happy to submit your resume as an internal referral for an open client success role at the tech company I work for. It’s fully remote, good culture, good benefits. DM me if you’d be interested! I think we have IRL mutual friends if that helps lol

I’m so sorry to hear this. I could refer you to an open customer service role (fully remote) at the tech company where I work if you’d be interested. Feel free to DM, and I’m so sorry you’re going through so much awful shit at once.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. I can’t wait to see the dumb fluffy babies you bring home in the future. You will give them such a wonderful life, just like you did with Austin.

I’m very grateful that @murray.senate.gov has been doing somewhat better. I hope @cantwell.senate.gov will step up and follow Senator Murray’s lead.

@cantwell.senate.gov I am your constituent on Whidbey Island. I urgently ask that you join Senator Wyden on the finance committee to stop this active coup. Elon Musk is a national security emergency. You and your colleagues in the senate must act immediately to protect the treasury.

short story where I make some dumbfuck comment on a menswearguy post and he somehow reveals that I am 40 years older than I previously thought and was directly involved in the 1953 Iran Coup and I looked like shit while doing it

I am your voting constituent (Island County). I ask that you immediately launch an investigation into the role Elon Musk played in harming the FAA through his unlawful actions, directly contributing to this horrific loss of life. bsky.app/profile/goli...

Of course! Native gardening is fantastic - hope you enjoy it!

I like seedtime.us for veggie garden planning, and www.reddit.com/r/NativePlan... is a great resource for native plant gardening
comment in response to post
Native plants almost never need watering if you plant them the right time of year (usually fall, or winter for some seeds). And a lot of plants will attract beneficial insects that eat the pest insects, so a mix of flowers is good!
comment in response to post
What sort of tasks are you looking for the app to help you with? The nice thing about native plants is they generally don’t need much care or maintenance, especially if you plant them during a rainy season. Forgetting them usually isn’t a problem!

I’m now up to 12 of these containers and there’s no end in sight lol

Me too - especially if that moderator could help make it clear which plants are invasive to the PNW.
comment in response to post
I would love a PNW feed, personally. I try to grow mostly native plants and a region-specific feed would be really helpful for that.

I’m not an expert, but to my eye that looks like it might be a fungal disease. I’d email the picture to the UC master gardener extension program - they helped me diagnose peach curl on my fruit trees a few years ago: mg.ucanr.edu/volunteer/Fi...
