Yes, it is entirely correct to point out that ICE officers do not have any legal authority to break into somebody’s home unless they get a judicial warrant; which they generally cannot do, because judges only issue warrants for probable cause of crimes, not immigration law violations.

Trump's lawyers are absolutely flailing in the courts right now

Beyond betrayal.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

saying it again: if there are "conditions" on aid to california, no democrat should vote for any disaster aid of any kind to any state. all states get aid or no states get aid. that's it

Any Governmental work product is the property of the American taxpayer. It is not for DOGE to be deleting anything.

Where are DOGE’s finds coming from and who appropriated them

In 2024, the NLRB filed a complaint against Tesla for interfering in a union drive at their Buffalo, NY assembly plant. Today:

For highway projects, states only pay 20% and federal government pays the rest, but for California High Speed Rail the ratio is flipped around - 80% comes from state government.

People live healthier lives when they're able to walk places.

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

A thing I wish I could teach people is that the vast majority of very rich people are deeply stupid. They did not get where they are because of ingenuity or talent. They got there because of compound interest on hereditary wealth and being tax cheats.

“The thing that I can’t get over is that the actual richest man in the world directed my fucking firing. I make $50k a year and work to keep drinking water safe. The richest man in the world decided that was an expense too great for the American taxpayer.”

worth saying again these these unilateral cuts are illegal. neither trump nor musk has the authority to unilaterally slash appropriated funds.

Why are we literally firing national park rangers?! The National Park Service is an agency and national amenity with one of the highest approval ratings!

"These emissions are largely unregulated by legislation and the study found that these 'non-exhaust' pollution sources are now responsible for the majority of vehicle particulate matter emissions in the UK and parts of Europe, with brake dust the main contributor among them."

“We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests,” President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, January 6, 1941

Unreal. The US government is dumping Asian and African families and children in random countries that they have no connection to. Dumping, not "deporting." Deportation implies the return of a person to their home country. This is treating people like toxic waste. www.cbsnews.com/news/us-depo...

DOGE is gonna make the deficit higher

Making sure folks realize that Alex Spiro is both Musk’s attorney and Eric Adams’ attorney.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

Silence = Death

In other words: the richest man on Earth, who owns a space technology company, is slashing the US government’s space program — with no electoral mandate to do so

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

Turns out that centuries of economic thought are correct: increasing the supply of a good will, all things being equal, lower the price of the good. Weird that people talk themselves out of this obvious insight when it comes to housing.

i mean, in my entire life, the democrats have had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate for exactly 8 months total (between Al Franken being seated in July 09 and Scott Brown taking Ted Kennedy's seat in Feb 2010) and they used it to pass the largest expansion of the welfare state since the 60s

Call your R reps. If you have a regional accent, make the most of it. Tell them you didn't vote for CANCER and ask them what the hell they're gonna do to stop Musk and Trump. reps.fyi

80% of America’s fiscal problems trace back to the cost of healthcare and or housing

I do think it’s time to start writing to your newspaper l, calling your local NPR station, and asking why they aren’t covering what’s happening accurately

Laws. The word you're looking for here is "laws."

Open season for corruption, scams, and general enshittification.

One of the key points of non-violent direct action is to force the authorities to stop you -- to force their hand, to make them arrest you, and yes, perhaps even make them lash out in violence -- and to broadcast those images to an otherwise apathetic public. Be confrontational, not compliant.

Ain't good. Compared to Senate Dems, House Dems have less leverage. One exception is the budget fight. But here's the Dem House Leader TODAY declining to use that leverage. If you have a Dem rep, ask them to use their leverage. And tell them to tell Jeffries to lead. Stay tuned - more to come.

removal of Musk's goons from GSA and Treasury's payment system and appointment of an independent prosecutor that Trump can't fire to investigate what happened should be the table stakes for any Dem votes on the budget or debt ceiling. Should get more than that, but that's a bare minimum.
