And, oops! It was with UK, not EU, as announced by the Very Confused Gaffer In Chief. guess we are well beyond embarrassment at this point.

They are destroyers…who knows why that is encoded in the human genome…but it is. We can only do everything possible to actualize the other side of the genome coin, empathy…and never doubt that truth.

Yeah! Congratulations on your decision. You have a unique talent for articulating policy in a personal context.. I hope you get tons of support from the DNC.

We cannot back down….no matter how grim it looks. The ‘26 elections seem a long way off, but getting there is our task. I believe we can do it. Thank you for all the work you and your team are doing to that end.

I very much value your journalism. I am a lifelong progressive and have held my country’s feet to the fire for 60 years. The outcry we hear now, all over the country, is not negligible. It may be geographically scattered, but it is deep, loud and surprisingly well informed. Civics 101.

Wonderful quote. Truman, of all people. Either you care, as a society, about the well being of everyone….or you don’t. One leads to a strong, vibrant society, the other to decay and decline.

One thought on polarization: I think it’s a pretty basic question, which Reverend Barber posits: if we do not have universal compassion, we don’t have a healthy society. All budget legislations are moral documents.

EXCELLENT. And let me add a note that I am reading the audio of “Why We’re Polarized “…. fantastic book. Thanks.

When my (elder, Boomer) friends ask what they can do , I tell them to get on the phone. I mostly call GOP, since I know MY Reps already know what to do. It’s an easy way for seniors to DO SOMETHING

A thank you, again. You are a standout in this frayed democracy. A reminder that this draconian agenda has been with us since the Mayflower disembarked its Puritan agenda. They will always be here. It is our job to outnumber them with vigorous civic involvement. We stand with you.

Well, how he got brain worms comes a little more into focus.

I noticed that too….ICE thugs, at least 1/2 people of color. Who ARE these minions? How do they sleep a night? And do they think they are protected by working as a de facto Gestapo? ….when they came for the communists, I didn’t protest because I wasn’t a communist…..

What a lovely irony that the American Pope is considered progressive….counter to the most regressive administration in our history. I’m not religious, but I’ll take whatever help we can get.

Except he did. People just didn’t want to think about it. What were Harris/Walz talking about at every rally? Project 2025.

Thank you for the nuancing. We need to understand where the future is headed for the values we hold in common…climate, wealth distribution, election reform. We in the US Left were just thankful it wasn’t a total conservative washout.
